Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.

About our Group

CARIAD COE (Centre of Excellence) is setup in Bangalore, India working exclusively with CARIAD and associated VW groups with the focus on development of ‘VW.OS”. The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.

Job Description:

Job Role : Architect

Experience Level : 10 to 14 years

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance C++ applications for embedded and Linux-based systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable C++ code (C++11/14/17) and demonstrate strong coding capability during technical interviews.
• Develop comprehensive unit tests using GTest and ensure high code quality through tools such as SonarQube.
• Manage and integrate third-party dependencies using Conan, and maintain robust build workflows using CMake.
• Debug complex issues using gdb, Linux system tools, and low-level diagnostics.
• Create and maintain shell scripts for automation, integration, and development workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define architecture and produce clear design documentation using PlantUML.
• Apply containerization best practices (Docker, Podman) for streamlined development, testing, and deployment environments.
• Optimize multithreaded and concurrent applications for reliability, scalability, and real-time performance.
• Produce clear and structured technical documentation, including design details, workflows, and architectural decisions.

Required Skills

• Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ (C++11/14/17) with strong hands-on coding experience.
• Proficiency with GTest, SonarQube, Conan, Shell Scripting, CMake, and gdb.
• Strong understanding of Linux CLI, system programming, and embedded software concepts.
• Working knowledge of containerization using Docker and/or Podman.
• Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency patterns, and synchronization mechanisms.
• Experience creating and maintaining architecture/design diagrams using PlantUML.
• Good to have: familiarity with MQTT protocols and Cloud technologies.
• Currently working as a Product Owner (PO) in a SAFe environment while maintaining strong hands-on coding expertise.
• Must be willing to write code as part of the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive software development or related safety-critical domains.
• Knowledge of Adaptive AUTOSAR frameworks and tools.
• Exposure to IoT ecosystems, protocols, and cloud connectivity.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, SAFe principles, and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and excellent communication abilities.
