Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.

About our Group

CARIAD COE (Centre of Excellence) is setup in Bangalore, India working exclusively with CARIAD and associated VW groups with the focus on development of ‘VW.OS”. The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.

Job Description:

Job Title: Technical Lead, Automation.

Experience: 7+ years

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

• Python Development

• Writing efficient, maintainable, and testable Python code.
• Experience with REST API development and integration (e.g., Django REST Framework).
• Handling asynchronous tasks (e.g., Celery or similar frameworks).

• Devops:
• Pipeline creation, testing, and deployment automation.
• Implementing security best practices in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., secrets management).

Version control:

• Branching strategies (e.g., Git Flow, trunk-based development).
• Merge conflict resolution and code review practices.

Github Actions:

• Creating, managing, and optimizing GitHub workflows for automation.
• Knowledge of reusable workflows and GitHub-hosted runners.
• Experience with self-hosted runners and their integration into workflows.

• Backend Development (Django)

• Building and maintaining scalable Django applications.
• Creating and managing Django models, serializers, views, and forms.
• Integration with third-party libraries and tools.
• Working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Writing efficient queries and optimizing database performance.
• Familiarity with Django ORM and its advanced features.

• Requirements:
• Develop and manage Bazel build rules and configurations.
• Integrate static code analysis (Astrée) and model checks (MXAM) into the toolchain.
• Set up and integrate test tools like Googletest and TPT.
• Support requirements management with tools such as Codebeamer.
• Configure code generation from Simulink models using Embedded Coder.
• Create and manage dashboards in tools like Grafana.
• Experience with popular Python frameworks such as Django.
• Debugging issues in CI/CD pipelines, databases, or Django applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, Git, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Should be working on monitoring and logging solutions for docker containers ensuring visibility.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, for automating migration tasks
• Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL.
• Strong experience in JFrog Artifactory administration and migration.
• Familiarity with Virtual Machines.
• Writing clear and concise documentation for workflows, applications, and databases.
• Understanding and applying information from free and open information sources like e.g. StackOverflow, or other. Able to read, understand and use APIs.
• Experience in Embedded Development tools chains (Compiler, debugger etc.) and SWC (Software Component) architecture experience with complete SW engineering mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving ability with solid communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
