Job Description :
We are looking for a strong SAP ABAP & BW Consultant with hands-on technical expertise in SAP ABAP, SAP ECC 6.0, SAP BW, and SAP S/4HANA data extraction and integration.
The resource will work closely with the DataBricks team to support data extraction from SAP S/4HANA into Databricks.
The consultant must understand SAP ECC 6.0 and BW integration points, underlying SAP tables, data sources, and data flow to help the team identify and extract the required business data accurately.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide technical expertise in SAP ABAP and SAP BW for SAP data extraction and integration activities.
- Understand SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP S/4HANA data structures, tables, data sources, and integration points.
- Identify relevant SAP tables and data sources required for extracting business data into Databricks.
- Support the DataBricks team in understanding SAP data models, relationships, dependencies, and extraction logic.
- Analyse existing ABAP programs, custom developments, enhancements, and data extraction logic.
- Understand SAP BW data flows, including DataSources, transformations, and extraction mechanisms.
- Support data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting of data extraction issues.
- Work with functional and technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data requirements.
- Support data extraction requirements for the following modules: AP (Accounts Payable), AR (Accounts Receivable), and AP Cockpit.
- Troubleshoot SAP-side issues related to data availability, extraction logic, and data consistency.
Required Skills :
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development and debugging.
- Good understanding of SAP ECC 6.0 architecture and data structures.
- Strong knowledge of SAP BW and its integration with SAP ECC.
- Excellent understanding of SAP tables, DataSources, data extraction, and data flow.
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data structures and extraction mechanisms.
- Ability to collaborate with data engineering teams working on Databricks integrations.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience supporting SAP-to-Databricks data extraction or similar data platform integrations.
- Knowledge of SAP Finance processes, particularly Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Experience with AP Cockpit.
- Exposure to SAP BW extractors, ODP, CDS views, and other SAP data extraction methods.
- Experience working in hybrid delivery environments.
Candidate Expectations :
- Must be technically strong in both SAP ABAP and SAP BW.
- Should be able to independently identify SAP tables and data sources and explain how the data can be extracted.
- Should be comfortable working directly with the DataBricks team to resolve SAP data-related queries.
