Senior Technical Presales Engineer

The Senior Technical Presales Engineer is expected to effectively distil customer technical requirements through discovery calls, QBRs and other engagements to conceptualise the architecture of a solution that meets the client’s needs for their specific use case. These solutions can be any combination of existing products, enhanced features, customised products and third party peripherals. As a senior member of this team, you are expected to be able to engage with senior stakeholders on the customer side and act as an effective ambassador for the company, beyond just a technical remit. You’ll join a passionate Go To Market team that fosters collaboration, values diverse perspectives and leverages regional expertise. This role is based in Atlanta, USA. We operate in a hybrid model, with the primary work location being our office, with work from home available for up to 2x days per week (unless the role is remote). Regular travel within the assigned territory is expected in this role

Key Responsibilities

Rapid scoping of custom solutions

• Follow a structured technical scoping process during discovery calls to ensure customer needs are documented in detail
• Attend client QBRs or project implementation meetings and draw technical insights which can be used for unsolicited proposals or to ensure continued success during project roll-outs
• Help qualify and scope feature requests and/or customizations (hardware/firmware/software)
• Contribution and adherence to internal processes for custom feature/product requests

Increase win rate for deals which require technical proposals

• Development of sophisticated and effective solutions and assistance in writing compelling proposals
• Quality and completeness of solutions architecture slides/documents in proposals

Assist in development of support documentation

• Contributions to support materials

• Customer interaction and feedback on support materials
• Internal testing of new products/features ahead of client testing

Skills, Behaviours and Experience

• 5+ years in solution engineering, application engineering or technical presales roles
• Ability to understand and solve problems
• Technical writing skills
• Systems engineering skills
• Working knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure
• Working knowledge of sensors and instrumentation
• Working knowledge of basic electrical concepts & wiring
• Working knowledge of firmware and software code development practices and principles
• Ability to use various software packages that support day-to-day operations and business activities as required i.e.: MS Office Suite, JIRA, CRM Platforms (HubSpot)
