We are looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Platform Team and play a key part in evolving, scaling, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience designing and operating multi-cluster Kubernetes environments on EKS, strong expertise in Terraform and Terragrunt for large-scale infrastructure automation, and a solid command of AWS services. Experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitOps tooling, observability stacks, and Kubernetes security is essential.
Our Platform Team enjoys a high degree of autonomy - both in how we organize our work and in the solutions we build. There's plenty of room to introduce and shape the technology stack, and raise the bar for how infrastructure is done. That freedom comes with great ownership, responsibility, and accountability: you'll be expected to drive decisions end-to-end, not just execute them. As a team, we're also strongly cost-aware - we treat infrastructure spend as something to actively optimize, not just monitor, and we factor that into every architectural decision. The person will directly influence our DevOps culture and engineering best practices across the organization.
Your responsibilities:
- Own and evolve our multi-cluster EKS infrastructure - from day-to-day operations to cluster upgrades, node group strategies, and capacity planning.
- Keep our Terraform and Terragrunt codebase clean, scalable, and ahead of the growing infrastructure needs - including refactoring and setting patterns others follow.
- Be the go-to person for Kubernetes internals - troubleshooting hard problems, tuning performance, hardening security (RBAC, network policies, secrets management).
- Drive cost optimization as a first-class concern - identify waste, propose and implement improvements, and make cloud spend a conscious engineering decision.
- Partner with development teams to help them ship reliably - improving deployment pipelines, platform tooling, and the overall developer experience.
- Evaluate and introduce new tools and approaches when they genuinely solve a problem - we have the freedom to do this, and we use it deliberately.
- Contribute to observability: make sure we know what's happening in our systems before our users do.
General expectations:
- 3+ years of commercial experience in administering Kubernetes clusters at scale (EKS required; multi-cluster setups)
- 3+ years of commercial experience in managing AWS cloud environments (ALB, VPC/networking, EFS, EBS, EC2, S3, IAM, EKS control plane, etc.)
- Proven experience designing and operating multi-cluster Kubernetes architectures (cluster federation, cross-cluster networking, workload distribution)
- Strong expertise in Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management (IaC at scale)
- Solid experience developing, automating & maintaining GitLab CI/CD workflows and GitOps practices
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes networking (CNI plugins, Envoy/Ingress controllers)
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes security: RBAC, network policies, secrets management (Vault/AWS Secrets Manager), pod security standards
- Experience ensuring security, scalability, and high availability across production-grade infrastructure
- Experience with cluster lifecycle management: upgrades, node group management, capacity planning, autoscaling (Cluster Autoscaler, Karpenter)
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of observability concepts & tools (New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- AWS cost optimization / FinOps practices (Spot instances, rightsizing, Reserved/Savings Plans)
- Programming skills in Go or Python for automation, tooling, and Kubernetes extensions (custom controllers/operators, CRDs, admission webhooks)
- Experience using and configuring AI agentic coding harnesses (Claude Code, Codex, etc.), using them effectively and optimally to automate day-to-day DevOps/SRE workflows.
- Experience with container security scanning (Trivy, Falco)
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams
