Divcon is the leading independent solutions provider for data center and mission critical controls, bringing BMS and EPMS into one screen. Explore our capabilities and start a conversation.

About Us:

Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Divcon delivers fully integrated automation solutions nationwide that optimize performance, energy efficiency, and reliability across HVAC, lighting, power monitoring, and mission-critical systems. Leveraging advanced technologies - including Allen-Bradley PLCs, Ignition SCADA, and Delta DDC systems - we combine deep technical expertise with field-tested execution to deliver precise, scalable, and high-performance solutions.

About the role:

The Lead Field DDC Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for the design, development, coordination, and delivery of Delta Controls DDC-based building automation systems across complex, large-scale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role combines deep hands-on DDC programming expertise with project-level technical leadership, guiding engineering execution, reviewing work, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality, consistent DDC deliverables from design through commissioning and turnover. This role also supports deployment of Delta Controls enteliWEB SCADA environments and requires proficiency in GCL+ programming.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Technical Leadership

  • Lead the DDC engineering scope across assigned projects from design through commissioning and turnover
  • Define project-level control strategies, DDC architecture, controller configurations, network design, and integration requirements
  • Coordinate DDC deliverables across project teams, field teams, vendors, contractors, SCADA engineers, and system integrators
  • Provide technical leadership during client meetings, design reviews, project coordination meetings, and issue-resolution discussions
  • Partner with project managers and the Field Engineering Manager to communicate technical risks, resource needs, schedule impacts, and project priorities

DDC Programming & Architecture

  • Lead the design and development of Delta Controls DDC systems using GCL+ and related programming tools
  • Develop and implement control logic for HVAC systems, AHUs, VAVs, central plants, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and critical facility infrastructure
  • Guide implementation of controller databases, sequences of operation, alarm strategies, scheduling, trending, and system recovery logic
  • Support system integration with enteliWEB, Ignition SCADA, BMS, EPMS, and other facility platforms
  • Ensure DDC logic is reliable, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with customer and project requirements
  • Lead configuration and deployment of Delta Controls enteliWEB environments for mission-critical data center applications

Quality, Standards & Review

  • Ensure consistency and quality across DDC deliverables through design reviews, code reviews, testing, and validation
  • Review engineering work and provide feedback to ensure adherence to company standards and best practices
  • Support development and maintenance of DDC programming standards, reusable code libraries, GCL+ templates, naming conventions, and documentation standards
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and improve development processes
  • Drive improvements in engineering processes, tools, workflows, and project execution methods

Field Support, Troubleshooting & Commissioning

  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex DDC control system issues during startup and commissioning
  • Support field teams during static and dynamic commissioning, point-to-point verification, and customer acceptance activities
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving GCL+ logic, controller hardware, communication networks, field devices, enteliWEB integration, and third-party system integrations
  • Implement and validate integrations using BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, and other open protocols
  • Interface with vendors and contractors to support system integration and issue resolution

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Mentor and guide Field DDC Engineers and Senior Field DDC Engineers
  • Provide technical direction, coaching, code review feedback, and project-specific support
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members
  • Escalate recurring skill gaps or development needs to the Field Engineering Manager

Qualifications:

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in DDC programming, building automation, or controls engineering
  • 2+ years of technical leadership or team lead experience in field operations
  • Expert-level proficiency with Delta Controls GCL+ and software tools
  • Deep hands-on experience with enteliWEB deployment, configuration, and commissioning
  • Proven experience programming and commissioning complex HVAC systems including central plants, chillers, and boilers
  • Advanced knowledge of BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, and network configuration
  • Experience leading DDC scope on complex projects from design through turnover
  • Willingness to travel 50-60%, including extended site assignments
  • Valid driver's license; domestic and international travel as needed

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or Controls Engineering; or equivalent experience
  • Delta Controls Fundamentals and Advanced Applications certification
  • Experience in data centers, hyperscale infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities
  • Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, Kepware, OPC UA, EPMS, or historian integrations
  • Experience with server setup, virtual machines, or OT network environments
  • Experience in a systems integrator or engineering services environment
  • Exposure to OT cybersecurity or formal commissioning standards
