DoorDash is an American delivery company founded in 2013 that started with restaurant orders in suburban markets the incumbents had ignored, and now holds the largest share of United States food delivery. It has extended the same courier network into grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail delivery, sells a white-label fulfilment service to merchants who want deliveries from their own apps, and operates an advertising business selling placement to restaurants and brands. Headquartered in San Francisco and listed on Nasdaq, it acquired the European platform Deliveroo and the hospitality software firm SevenRooms in 2025.

About the Team

DoorDash is one of the world's most trusted on-demand logistics platforms. The Global Safety and Security team exists to keep it that way, protecting our people, property, operations, brand, and reputation across all our markets. We manage risk and create value through agility, technology, and a people-first approach. Our DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt brands now span more than 40 countries, dozens of offices, and tens of thousands of employees. Keeping that community safe in the moments that matter is the mission of our Critical Incident Response Team.

About the Role

We are hiring a Critical Incident Response Agent, a proactive, prevention-oriented specialist who is on the ground keeping our offices and people safe. As a member of the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) within Global Safety and Security, you help assess sites and close gaps, prepare people, build local response capability, and serve as the on-site responder when something goes wrong. You help drive site risk assessment and remediation across physical access controls, surveillance, and procedures. You support on-site access and guest management. You support the establishment and help lead site Emergency Response Teams (ERTs). You coordinate closely with the Global Operations Center (GOC), which maintains global situational awareness, provides operational overwatch, and leads incident management around the clock.

This role blends preparation with real-time execution. On a normal day, you help assess and prepare for risk, participate in drills, and deliver training. On the hardest day, you are the first calm, certified, competent responder on scene. This is a high-impact individual contributor role that demands sound independent judgment, craft, and the ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders. It is on-site and field-based across your assigned locations, with availability for after-hours, weekend, and holiday operations and response.

You are excited about this opportunity because you will…

Assess sites and remediate risk. Support site-specific risk assessments across physical access controls, surveillance, and procedures. Identify gaps, recommend and drive remediation with Workplace and site partners, and ensure sensitive spaces have clear ownership and are audited on a defined cadence. You keep the physical environment secure without making it feel that way.

Respond as the first qualified responder. Serve as the on-site responder and incident commander for natural, human-made, and medical emergencies. Maintain and apply advanced medical certification, act decisively in the critical first minutes, and hand off cleanly to first responders. You are the reason an incident stays small.

Build local emergency response capability. Help stand up and certify site-level ERTs, publish and maintain Emergency Response Plans, and run regular drills and tabletop exercises in coordination with the GOC. Aid in establishing and maintaining working relationships with building management, other tenants, and local first responders so the response is coordinated before the event, not during it.

Support threat assessment and workplace violence prevention. Serve as a site-level intake and coordination point for behavioral concerns and threats. Apply de-escalation, support case management in coordination with HR and Legal, and enable early intervention. Assist with safety and security investigations and produce clear, decision-ready findings.

Deliver training and build a safety culture. Help design, produce, and deliver safety and security training and awareness for the populations you support. Drive First Aid, CPR, AED, and Stop the Bleed certification across your sites, in formats that actually stick, and make sure every employee knows what to do in an emergency and how to contact Global Safety and Security.

Coordinate incidents with the Global Operations Center. Partner with the GOC on situational awareness, communications, and incident management before, during, and after events. Serve as the site point of contact for incident capture, escalation, and after-action review, and turn every incident into a lesson that improves the next response.

Support events and onsite operations. Provide risk, coordination, and response support for corporate events and executive visits. Help assess events for emerging risk, set the response posture with stakeholders, and coordinate timely action as conditions change. Help facilitate onsite access and guest management.

Uphold standards, readiness, and compliance. Help maintain procedures, playbooks, and records; keep emergency equipment ready, including AEDs and trauma kits; and hold your sites to corporate safety, security, and compliance standards. You leave every site more prepared than you found it.

We are excited about you because you bring…

Response and emergency expertise. 3+ years in physical security, emergency services, or the military, with direct experience responding to real incidents. You hold or are able to obtain BLS, First Aid, AED, and Stop the Bleed certification, and you carry or are willing to take incident command training (ICS and NIMS or equivalent). You stay calm and decisive when it matters most.

Risk assessment craft. A desire to support physical site risk assessments and drive remediation across access controls, surveillance, and procedure. You know what good looks like, and you close the gap between the two.

Training and communication. Passion for developing others and delivering safety or security training that changes behavior. You communicate well in writing and in person, especially in high-stakes, time-sensitive situations.

Investigative judgment. Strong investigative judgment with clear, decision-ready reporting. You make sound decisions with incomplete information, sequence your work thoughtfully, and de-escalate tense situations.

Technical orientation. You are an early adopter of new technology and quickly find more effective and efficient solutions to challenging problems using technology.

Cross-functional partnership. A trusted partner who builds strong working relationships with Workplace, HR, Legal, Comms, and external emergency services, and who makes security an enabler, not a friction point.

Availability and credentials. Willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Compensation

Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.
