About this role

Join Dow's dynamic Tax team and play a key role in supporting tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities across the business. As a Tax Specialist, you will apply your financial expertise and analytical skills to translate financial information into valuable tax insights, helping Dow navigate an evolving tax and regulatory landscape. Working within a high-performing, cross-functional environment, you will collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Controllers, Legal, and external stakeholders while contributing to projects that have a direct impact on business performance and compliance.

In this role, you will build and expand your expertise in taxation, financial reporting, and business operations while gaining exposure to a broad range of tax matters. You will have the opportunity to work independently, influence processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, while also supporting and guiding new team members.

You will leverage your technical knowledge, problem-solving capabilities, and professional judgment to analyze tax matters, drive compliant outcomes, and support business decision-making. Your contributions will help ensure the delivery of high-quality results while maintaining strong governance, controls, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate annual tax compliance activities in accordance with local tax legislation, including income tax returns, tax declarations, information reporting, fiscal reporting, and support for external audits.
  • Support quarterly and year-end tax accounting and reporting activities in close collaboration with Finance & Strategy, Treasury, and the Global Tax organization.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for Tax Authorities, external auditors, and tax advisors, effectively communicating tax matters and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor, assess, and communicate the impact of proposed tax legislation and regulatory developments on Dow businesses.
  • Ensure full compliance with SOX controls, corporate policies, and internal governance requirements.
  • Provide tax support and due diligence assistance for mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic business initiatives.
  • Support tax activities across a defined geography or business segment while partnering with regional and global stakeholders.
  • Apply and further develop technical expertise in tax accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Demonstrate initiative and leadership, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and providing informal coaching to team members as needed.
  • Collaborate on local and regional projects with commercial teams, legal functions, controllers, and other business partners.
  • Act as a trusted finance and tax resource, providing guidance and support to stakeholders across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Tax, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 1-5 years’ experience in Finance, Tax, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
