The opportunity

As a Buyer, you will support the delivery of procurement and supply chain activities across a regional portfolio of Energy & Utilities projects and contracts. Working within established procurement frameworks, you will help ensure projects are supported by effective procurement planning, supplier engagement, sourcing activity and purchasing processes that drive quality, cost and schedule outcomes.

What you'll do

• Support procurement planning activities and ensure projects have procurement plans aligned to Downer standards and contract requirements.
• Conduct sourcing and contracting activities, including RFx processes, supplier engagement, negotiations and purchase order management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders to support project delivery.
• Monitor compliance with procurement processes, systems and governance requirements, including procure-to-pay (P2P) activities.
• Identify procurement risks, opportunities and cost-saving initiatives while supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement, project management and/or contract management within construction, utilities, oil and gas, or a similar industry.
• Knowledge of source-to-contract and procure-to-pay processes.
• Strong organisational, analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in ERP, procurement and Microsoft Office applications.
• A proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships.
