Cyber Security Specialist

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.

Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for an Cyber Security Specialist in Canberra to lead, plan, execute, manage and monitor the ISM certification and accreditation artefacts through to delivery according to predetermined timelines and budgets

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

• Contribute to IT security architecture analysis and design, Incident Response Plan (IRP); and System Overview Document (SOD)

• Ensuring consistent communication and flow of information across channels within the project team;

• Contribute to design and delivery of System Accreditation Plan; Security Risk Management Plan (SRMP); System Security Plan (SSP); and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

What You’ll Bring

• Degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or relevant industry experience in Engineering or Information Technology that is transferrable to the security domain.

• Certified SAFe® Practitioner (mandatory for all COSPO personnel - can be completed upon engagement).

• Demonstrated knowledge in conducting security assurance activities against ISM or related information security policy frameworks.

• Experience in the preparation of security artefacts (Security Risk Management Plan (SRMP), Statement of Applicability (SOA), System Security Plan (SSP), System Overview Document (SOD), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Incident Response Plan (IRP)

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
