About the Role
We are looking for an Entry-Mid Level System Administrator with a strong focus on networking and telephony infrastructure to join our IT team. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting our LAN/WAN environment, VoIP/telephony systems, and core network hardware, while also assisting with general server and systems administration tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational networking knowledge who wants to build hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure and grow into a full systems/network engineering role.
Key Responsibilities:
Networking
- Install, configure, and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance and availability; troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and VPN links.
- Support VLAN configuration, routing, and basic firewall rule management.
- Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, IP address allocation, and change records.
- Assist with network security tasks such as access control lists, patching of system, network devices, and monitoring for anomalies.
Telephony
- Administer and support VoIP telephony systems (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft Teams Phone, 3CX, or similar platforms).
- Manage handset provisioning, extensions, call routing, voicemail, and hunt groups.
- Troubleshoot call quality issues, dropped calls, and integration issues between telephony and network infrastructure (QoS, SIP trunking).
- Coordinate with telecom carriers and vendors for line provisioning, porting, and outage resolution.
General System Administration
- Assist with day-to-day administration of Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, and core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP).
- Support backup, patching, and monitoring routines across servers and network devices.
- Provide technical support for network- and telephony-related helpdesk tickets.
- Participate in infrastructure projects such as office moves, network upgrades, and telephony system migrations.
- Maintain accurate asset inventory for network and telephony equipment.
Helpdesk & End-User Support
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, network, and account issues,
- Own and resolve tickets end-to-end via the IT service management (ITSM) platform, meeting SLA targets.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1-3 years of experience in a system administration, network support, or telecom support role.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
- Exposure to VoIP/telephony systems and concepts (SIP, QoS, call routing).
- Basic experience with firewalls and network security concepts.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and/or Linux server administration.
- Comfortable using network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, PRTG, SolarWinds).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with vendors, carriers, and end users.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on experience with a specific VoIP platform (Cisco Unified Communications, Avaya, 3CX, Microsoft Teams Phone, RingCentral, etc.).
- Exposure to cloud/hybrid networking concepts (SD-WAN, site-to-site VPN, Azure/AWS networking).
- Experience with structured cabling and basic hardware installation for network/telephony equipment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, •Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
