Hardware Engineer – Robotics

Location: Cambridge, MA

Manager: Hardware Engineer Lead

The Gist

You'll prototype rapidly, validate against real-world use, and iterate toward production-ready designs across actuation, sensing, and structure.

What You’ll Do

• Design subsystems in CAD and take them through prototyping

• Spec and integrate motors, sensors, and electronics

• Run characterization and reliability tests

• Document designs and contribute to BOM and manufacturing files

What We’re Looking For

Must-haves:

• 3+ years in robotics, consumer electronics, or related hardware

• Strong mechanical or electrical fundamentals (or both)

• Hands-on prototyping experience (machining, 3D printing, soldering)

• BS/MS in ME, EE, Robotics, or equivalent experience

We are creating a new category of mobile characters that move naturally through guest environments, understand the context of an interaction and respond in real time. Dynamic Creatures offers character-based experiences built on Boston Dynamics and other systems, as well as fully original robots created for a specific brand, environment or story. As Boston Dynamics’ official entertainment and hospitality partner, the company works with entertainment companies to develop guest-facing character experiences designed to feel personal, attentive, and memorable. Dynamic Creatures was co-founded by CEO Marc Theermann, former chief strategy officer at Boston Dynamics and a former senior leader at Google, and chief technology officer Farbod Farshidian, a globally recognized robotics researcher and former research leader at the Robotics and AI Institute.
