Journeyman Electrician - 5K Sign On Bonus

Overview:

The licensed Journeyman Electrician is responsible for supporting commercial electrical systems and projects. This role will serve as a senior electrical resource for the organization, performing installations, ensuring code compliance, supporting field teams, and providing technical expertise across projects.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in commercial electrical systems, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to mentor others and deliver high-quality, compliant work across all job sites.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical work as a licensed Journeyman Electrician, ensuring all work meets NEC and local code requirements
• Perform and support commercial electrical installations, including power distribution, lighting, motor controls, panelboards, switchgear, and branch circuit wiring
• Interpret and work from electrical plans, wiring diagrams, load calculations, and specifications
• Support the permitting and inspection process
• Lead troubleshooting efforts on complex electrical and control issues
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to apprentices and fellow electricians
• Coordinate with project managers and operations teams to ensure proper job scoping, material planning, and efficient project execution
• Interface with inspectors, engineers, and local authorities as needed
• Ensure all electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards
• Assist with system startups, commissioning, and final quality checks
• Maintain accurate documentation for compliance, inspections, and project records

Qualifications:

• Active Journeyman Electrician License (required - state-specific)
• 10+ years of commercial electrical experience
• Deep knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), commercial electrical systems, controls, and power distribution
• Proven ability to lead projects and guide field teams
• Strong troubleshooting skills, especially with control systems and complex electrical issues
• Experience working in commercial environments (retail, office, industrial, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and controls
• Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Experience coordinating with other trade teams on multi-discipline projects
• Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role
