Our IT Group Support Functions Team

Dyson’s IT Group Support Functions team exists to delight our business stakeholders by partnering with them to define and deliver technology roadmaps that support business strategy and objectives.

IT Group Support Functions team context IT Group Support Functions is made up of the following teams: Supply Chain, Finance & DBS, HR, Legal, Estates & Facilities, and Digital Workplace.

The team has global responsibility for end-to-end business relationships and technical product management across its functions: from ideation, roadmap definition and business case creation, through to delivery execution, enhancements, operations, and eventual product replacement or retirement.

The Supply Chain Systems-Manufacturing team partners with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Engineering and Infrastructure teams to ensure technology solutions supporting Dyson's manufacturing operations remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose. The team supports critical manufacturing systems, operational technology environments, production infrastructure and factory-related IT services across manufacturing sites.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Senior IT Manager, the Engineer - Manufacturing Support is responsible for ensuring the stability, availability and operational support of manufacturing IT and OT systems within Dyson production facilities.

The role acts as a technical support partner for production-related incidents, infrastructure issues, manufacturing applications and connected shopfloor devices. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Infrastructure and external vendors, the engineer will help minimize disruption to production operations while maintaining compliance with Dyson IT standards, cybersecurity policies and operational procedures.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to operational support, continuous improvement and manufacturing technology delivery.

Main Job Responsibilities

Manufacturing IT & OT Support

· Provide operational support for manufacturing IT and OT environments to ensure production lines operate without interruption.

· Install, configure, upgrade, replace and remediate manufacturing-related hardware and software components.

· Troubleshoot desktop, server, application, operating system and peripheral issues impacting manufacturing operations.

· Support manufacturing systems and production peripherals including SPC systems, printers, scanners and shopfloor devices.

· Perform basic network diagnostics and coordinate with infrastructure teams to resolve connectivity issues affecting manufacturing systems.

· Support production servers and manufacturing applications in accordance with approved operational procedures.

· Ensure production devices comply with Dyson IT security standards, patching requirements and antivirus policies.

· Coordinate with internal support teams and third-party vendors to resolve hardware and software incidents efficiently.

· Investigate recurring issues and identify opportunities to improve system reliability and operational stability.

Incident & Operational Management

· Respond promptly to Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents impacting manufacturing operations.

· Participate in on-call support and provide factory support during critical operational periods when required.

· Manage and resolve manufacturing-related incidents, service requests and user queries within agreed service levels.

· Escalate issues appropriately and ensure effective communication with stakeholders until full resolution.

· Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, root causes, corrective actions and knowledge articles.

· Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities relating to manufacturing systems.

Manufacturing Projects & Continuous Improvement

· Support implementation, deployment and enhancement of manufacturing technology solutions.

· Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and IT teams to gather requirements and support project delivery.

· Assist with system testing, user acceptance testing and production readiness activities.

· Support factory expansion, new production line deployment and manufacturing automation initiatives.

· Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, system performance and user experience through automation and standardisation.

· Assist in evaluating new technologies and manufacturing solutions that support future business requirements.

Governance, Compliance & Security

· Ensure compliance with Dyson IT policies, cybersecurity standards and operational procedures.

· Support software licensing, hardware asset management and manufacturing device lifecycle management.

· Participate in internal and external audits related to manufacturing systems and infrastructure.

· Maintain regulatory and factory compliance requirements for IT and OT environments.

· Support implementation of security controls and vulnerability remediation activities within manufacturing systems.

· Ensure compliance with relevant management system requirements, including Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety, Business Continuity and Energy Management requirements where applicable.

About You

Essential Experience and Skills

· 3+ years of experience in IT support, manufacturing systems support or operational technology environments.

· Hands-on experience supporting Windows operating systems, end-user devices, servers and network infrastructure.

· Experience supporting manufacturing systems, production applications or shopfloor technologies.

· Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.

· Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, hardware support and system administration.

· Experience managing incidents and service requests within an operational support environment.

· Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Understanding of IT security principles, patch management and endpoint compliance requirements.

Desirable Experience

· Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems, SPC systems, industrial scanners, printers or shopfloor automation solutions.

· Knowledge of OT infrastructure and industrial networking environments.

· Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments.

· Exposure to SAP manufacturing or supply chain processes.

· Familiarity with ITIL service management practices.

· Experience supporting factory start-ups, line transfers or manufacturing expansion projects.
