Overall Purpose

The Sr. Lead, Business Operations - Risk role is an individual-contributor role responsible for translating enterprise Risk Operations priorities into coordinated execution across a broad portfolio of high-visibility work. The role drives operating rhythms, integrated roadmaps, stakeholder coordination, executive communications, and repeatable mechanisms that enable Risk leadership to advance priorities with clarity, consistency, and follow-through. This position will execute the enterprise risk training strategy, manage the integrated roadmap, and coordinate Risk subject matter experts and Learning & Development to ensure role-based training, learning paths, and related assets meet the established risk training standard and are delivered on time.

Although this role does not have direct reports, it manages delivery across a broad portfolio, adjusts priorities as demands change, builds relationships across stakeholder groups, and consistently executes high-visibility work with significant business impact. The role operates with a high degree of independence, identifies and manages dependencies, and creates alignment across internal business partners, senior leaders, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Drive execute the enterprise risk training strategy and manage the integrated training roadmap, including priorities, milestones, dependencies, , governance, and progress reporting.

  • Coordinate Risk subject matter experts and Learning & Development partners to develop, and deliver role-based training, learning paths, job aids, and other learning assets that meet the enterprise risk training standard.

  • Build and maintain the Risk Knowledge Base in SharePoint, including content governance, organization, ownership, maintenance routines, and coordination with content contributors.

  • Develop enterprise Risk communications that translate complex topics into clear, audience-appropriate messages and reinforce key priorities, expectations, and actions.

  • Create concise executive materials for ExCo, the Risk Committee, ERMC, and other leadership or governance forums, coordinating with content owners to ensure accuracy, clarity, and readiness.

  • Coordinate planning, materials, logistics, follow-up, and action tracking for two quarterly Risk Advisory Boards with owner banks.

  • Drive business operating routines that provide visibility into progress, surface risks and dependencies, and support timely decisions by Risk leadership.

  • Lead day-to-day stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination across Risk, Learning & Development, Communications, business teams, and other partners.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operating processes, governance, communications, and knowledge-management practices and implement scalable approaches that strengthen execution.

  • Support other Risk Operations priorities and special initiatives as needed.

  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically has 12+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated portfolio consistent with experience required of the role in business operations, program management, business execution, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience independently managing a broad portfolio of complex, cross-functional initiatives and driving work from planning through execution.

  • Experience developing executive-level communications, presentations, or decision materials for senior leadership and governance forums.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, audience-appropriate content.

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and influence across functions and levels without direct authority.

  • Strong judgment, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt as business needs change.

  • Experience establishing or improving operating routines, governance mechanisms, processes, or knowledge-management practices.

  • Background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in or partnering closely with enterprise risk management, business controls, compliance, financial services, or another highly regulated environment.

  • Experience developing or executing enterprise training programs, learning strategies, or role-based learning paths in partnership with Learning & Development and subject matter experts.

  • Experience with SharePoint or comparable knowledge-management platforms, including content governance and maintenance practices.

  • Experience supporting executive committees, risk committees, advisory boards, or other formal governance forums.

  • Experience coordinating with external financial-institution stakeholders or strategic partners.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers. Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The base pay scale for this position in:

Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL / Washington, DC in USD per year is: $129,000 - $161,000.
