The role
You'll sit between our customers and our product. You'll spend real time inside behavioral health clinics with clinicians, billers, and admissions staff, find the work they still do by hand, and ship software that takes it off their plate. A lot of that software is LLM pipelines and voice agents, and all of it has to hold up in production.
What you'll do
Own problems end to end: scope them with the customer, build, ship, and stay with it until the clinic relies on it
Build and run production LLM pipelines and voice agents, from intake and payer calls to checking a note against payer and compliance requirements before a clinician finalizes it
Spend a large share of your time with customers, on-site and on calls, to understand the workflow before you build
Make product decisions yourself: there are no PMs, so you decide what to build and ship it in days
What we look for
4+ years of experience (ideally 8+) as a software engineer
You've shipped LLM-powered features or voice AI products to real users, not just prototypes or research
High agency: you've owned something that wasn't handed to you and taken it all the way
Comfort in front of customers, and you enjoy turning messy workflows into working software
Not a fit: this isn't a model research or training role. If you mainly want to work on model architecture or publish, this probably isn't the right job

Behavioral health providers typically run their business on 6 to 10 disconnected tools for admissions, clinical documentation, and billing. Ease replaces all of them with one platform: CRM, EHR, and revenue cycle management on a single patient record, with AI doing work that used to take entire teams.
We serve independent clinics and large multi-location provider groups across the country, covering every level of care from outpatient and IOP to residential, detox, inpatient psychiatry, and medication-assisted treatment. The a16z funding is going directly into product and engineering.
The work shows up in patient care. Providers on Ease report documenting 60 to 70% faster, which opens 30 to 40% more sessions on clinicians' calendars, and cutting intake and admissions labor costs by half. When you ship a feature here, a clinic sees more patients the next week.
