Sr. OPEX /Continuous Improvement Engineer

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Sr. OPEX /Continuous Improvement Engineer. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm or 7:30am-4:30pm at our Greenwood SC Eaton location.

The Sr Opex/Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for providing a broad range of professional continuous improvement support to manufacturing operations and plant facility maintenance; provide project responsibility for the execution of complex projects and project assignments within the Operational Excellence department; develop more complex engineering and process control documentation for manufacturing needs; provide coordination and technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

In this role:

• You will apply knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication and assembly processes, tooling and fixturing design and applications
• You will develop and implement improvements to manufacturing and its procedures and processes through improved layout and material handling procedures.
• You will train factory operators in the use of equipment, tooling and procedures.
• You will plan, coordinate, and oversee changes and upgrades to the manufacturing facility.
• You will be leading events such as Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events to achieve factory cost-out target in your support area.
• You will conduct a line capacity analysis and lead labor productivity improvement initiatives to achieve the business objective.
• You will specify, design, quote, install, debug, and maintain equipment for use in manufacturing.
• You will write capital appropriations (CAR) for new equipment in conjunction with the SCM team and be responsible for documentation associated with the purchase (ex. Prolaunch, Timelines, Management of Change, MESH 8.0/Safety).
• You will support the team with documentation such as process flow diagrams, PFMEA’s, and Control Plans.
• You will support Eaton’s digitization initiatives with the implementation of manufacturing execution systems (MES) in shop floor, electronic data presentation, Industry 4.0 and automation
• You will support other key plant processes and provide cross-functional support as directed.
• Support IGX product line with tasks such as gas handling, camera programming, and fan circuit programming with other functions.

Qualifications:

equired (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or continuous improvement engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
• NO relocation is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate Greenwood, SC area (50 miles) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of manufacturing or continuous improvement engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
• Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools.
• Demonstrated proficiency with PC and related software (Microsoft Office, ERP SAP, AS400, AutoCAD).
