VI Senior Design Engineer

What you’ll do:

Designs, coordinates and implements new products and services for Eaton Electrical in line with market requirements (GB and IEC，IEEE) to ensure future market growth.

• Develop new Vacuum Interrupters & modifies existing Vacuum Interrupters to the local Chinese requirements.
• Develops and implements to the project design goals & objectives - standards & codes (GB, DL, IEC), reliability, cost, quality
• Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
• Benchmark competitive products and technology on a continuous basis.
• Interact with other Eaton design groups in joint development projects.
• Coordinate work with drafter/ document control
• Coordinating handover the design to regular production; including pre-production runs, handbooks, work instructions etc.
• Works with our Supply Chain department to localize parts/ subassemblies; visits suppliersCoordinates and builds prototypes.
• Performs testing and interpretation of results.
• Identify weak points in current designs.
• Help in the technical analysis of returned VI’s from customer.
• Entertain relation with universities and other knowledge pools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or MSc. in engineering. Electrical or Mechanical is preferred.
• At least eight (8) years of experience required in VI field. Experience requirement will be based on experience type, concentration and performance, as evaluated by supervisor, and next level of management.
