Egis is a French engineering, consulting and operations group working on transport, buildings, water, energy and urban development projects worldwide. It designs and supervises infrastructure such as motorways, rail lines, metro systems, airports and bridges, and unusually also operates assets once they are built, running airports and road concessions rather than handing them over at completion. Headquartered near Paris and majority owned by the state investment bank Caisse des Depots alongside its own employees, the group employs tens of thousands of engineers and project managers across more than one hundred countries.

Egis is a leading global organisation in architecture, consulting, construction engineering, operations and mobility services. We partner with clients to design, deliver and operate smarter infrastructure and places that respond to the world’s evolving needs.

With more than 22,000 employees worldwide, we combine global capability with strong local insight. Our multidisciplinary expertise enables us to deliver innovative, practical and sustainable solutions that help build more balanced, resilient communities.

At Egis, you’ll be part of a business shaping the future of cities, transport, energy and the built environment, creating lasting impact where it matters most.

Ready to take the next step in your civil engineering career? Join our growing City and Places team and play a key role in delivering industrial, infrastructure and development projects across New Zealand and Australia.

Based in either Auckland or Christchurch, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on a diverse portfolio of brownfield and greenfield developments, supporting projects from concept design through to delivery and construction support. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical design, problem-solving and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver civil engineering design using 12d across a range of development and infrastructure projects

  • Undertake design work relating to earthworks, stormwater, drainage, roading and supporting infrastructure
  • Collaborate with project teams across New Zealand and Australia
  • Support project delivery through technical reporting, design coordination and stakeholder engagement
  • Gain exposure to construction phase services including site inspections and construction support
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and internal project team

You are a motivated and technically capable Civil Engineer who enjoys working on complex engineering challenges and delivering practical solutions for clients. You have a strong foundation in civil design and are looking for an opportunity where you can further develop your technical expertise while contributing to meaningful projects across a variety of sectors.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Around 5+ years of civil engineering experience within a consulting environment
  • Strong proficiency in 12d, with the ability to contribute from day one
  • Experience working on brownfield development projects, with exposure to greenfield developments also highly regarded
  • New Zealand and/or Australian project experience and an understanding of local design standards
  • Experience in civil infrastructure, land development, industrial, transport or stormwater projects
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients, stakeholders and project teams
  • A Bachelor of Engineering qualification or equivalent

We're particularly interested in engineers who are curious, collaborative and eager to continue growing their technical capability. Experience working towards CPEng or other professional registration is advantageous, but not essential.

  • Genuine flexibility with hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Employer-funded Southern Cross health insurance
  • Employer-funded life insurance cover
  • Annual wellbeing allowance
  • Chartership support, paid professional memberships and study assistance
  • Additional annual leave purchase options
  • Access to career opportunities across a global engineering, consulting and operations business
  • An inclusive team culture that celebrates performance and rewards accordingly.
  • Paid Primary and Secondary Carer Leave Policy, reflecting our commitment to work-life balance.
