Westview International Language School is seeking an experienced and visionary Science Teacher for the next Academic Year 26-27 to lead our science department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled educator to combine teaching with leadership responsibilities, driving academic excellence and fostering a collaborative and innovative science learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality science lessons across various grade levels, inspiring students and promoting a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
- Lead and manage the science department by setting clear goals, developing curriculum, and monitoring teaching effectiveness.
- Support and mentor science teachers, facilitating professional development and fostering best teaching practices.
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of the science curriculum, ensuring alignment with school standards and educational frameworks.
- Analyze student performance data to inform instructional strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage departmental resources, budgets, and equipment efficiently.
- Collaborate with school leadership and other departments to support school-wide initiatives and promote a cohesive educational environment.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to encourage involvement and support for the science program.
- Stay current with educational trends, scientific advancements, and pedagogical best practices through continuous professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science Education, a relevant science field, or equivalent; a master’s degree is an advantage.
- Proven teaching experience, preferably 3+ years, with some in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage and inspire a team of teachers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, parents, and stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of science curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, innovative, and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to analyze data and implement improvements to raise student achievement.
- Teaching certification or professional qualifications relevant to the role preferred.
