Elia is the Belgian electricity transmission system operator headquartered in Brussels, owning and operating the high-voltage grid, balancing supply and demand and connecting renewable generation such as offshore wind to the network. Founded in 2001 and listed on Euronext Brussels, it is the core of Elia Group, which also owns the German transmission operator 50Hertz, and it runs substations, control rooms and regional field teams across Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels. It hires field and secondary systems technicians, control room operators, project engineers and leaders, as-built drafters, IT and AI architects, accountants, auditors and interns.

Function

Elia Group is facing one of its biggest challenges: enabling the energy transition and supporting the large-scale electrification of society while ensuring a reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity system. Within Grid Development, this requires strong digital, data and analytical capabilities to support grid planning and long-term investment decisions.

The Scenarios & Grid Studies Solutions (SGS) product line provides the digital capabilities supporting the end-to-end Grid Development process, from scenarios and grid studies to needs identification, planning storylines and investment decision-making.

Within SGS, the Needs & Storyline Management (NSM) Product Team focuses on the digital capabilities required to manage system and grid needs, develop planning storylines and support the Reference Grid. This includes connecting identified needs with grid study results, reinforcement options and infrastructure projects, while ensuring an effective interface between Grid Development and Grid Solutions.

The Product Owner plays a key interface role between the business and the Product Team. Together with Grid Development experts and other business stakeholders, the PO identifies and understands the problems to solve, challenges underlying needs and clarifies the expected business outcomes. Based on these outcomes, the PO leads the Product Team, including IT developers (internal and external), business analyst, testers to define and develop the most appropriate digital solutions.

The Product Owner translates this understanding into a clear product vision, roadmap and prioritized backlog, ensuring that the team focuses on solutions delivering the highest value. The PO remains accountable for product priorities and outcomes throughout the full product lifecycle, from discovery and development to adoption and continuous improvement.

For the Needs & Storyline Management Product Team, we are looking for a Product Owner.
