Provide purchasing-related Contract Services to the Supply Chain organization, focusing on LATAM, and participate in various projects, initiatives, and programs for the Law Department and Supply Chain at a global level; initially requiring close and frequent guidance and direction, with supervision decreasing as experience grows.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, under the supervision (as required) of more Senior Contract staff, including in:
Responding, within established guidelines, to vendors’ documents and contractual requests;
Drafting and negotiating appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;
Takes the Contracts Lead role on:
Less complex international and multi-BU project contracts;
Less complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA);
Takes the Contracts Lead role on more complex projects and master (frame) agreements as experience develops;
Provides advice during the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals;
Interfaces with vendors, members of the Law Department and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure;
Analyses business, financial, and legal risks with supervision as necessary;
Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;
Provides contract-related guidance to Supply Chain, Project Management and other stakeholders
Work in Contract lifecycle management tools (Oracle CLM, DocuSign CLM, etc.)
Templates drafting, Emerson standard purchasing T&Cs update,
Legal research
Provides legal advice and interpretation of legal matters, including the application of law

For This Role, You Will Need:
- 4 years of work experience in a contracts-related role
Law Degree is preferred
Licensed to practice law
Completion of IACCM Advanced Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Practitioner and IACCM “Oil & Gas Contracting in Practice” preferred
Intermediate MS Office skills
Excellent oral and written English; Portuguese is an advantage
Excellent negotiation skills
Comprehensive knowledge of Contract law & principles
Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties
