Emerson is a Missouri industrial technology company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Its automation business supplies control systems, instrumentation and industrial software including AspenTech. The company serves process, hybrid and discrete manufacturers worldwide.

The Team:

At NI/Emerson Test & Measurement, the Product Marketing Engineering team is where engineering meets business. We are a dynamic group that bridges the gap between cutting-edge R&D and our customers. Our mission is to evangelize the technical benefits of NI hardware and software products to technical audiences, including customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. We create impactful content such as videos, white papers, presentations, product demonstrations, and web resources to position our products effectively and drive demand for NI’s world-class technology.

The Opportunity:

As a Principal Product Marketing Engineer, you will lead hands-on go-to-market execution while helping evolve how NI brings software to market. You will help evolve our go-to-market motion by applying modern software and SaaS practices to support faster, more frequent releases and continuously communicate new customer value.

You will partner with Product Management, R&D, sales, and marketing to translate customer needs and product capabilities into compelling messaging, technical content, seller enablement, and launch execution. You will help establish scalable practices for continuously communicating new value, preparing sellers, and driving adoption as our software portfolio and pace of innovation grow.

Your technical fluency will enable you to connect NI software with our broader hardware platform, translate complex capabilities into clear customer value, and help sellers and customers understand the value of the complete ecosystem.

What You'll Do:

  • Evolve and scale our product marketing approach to support more frequent software updates, personally building and delivering the launch content, enablement, and execution practices needed to maintain quality and seller readiness as release velocity increases.

  • Work closely with Product Management and R&D to align release priorities, scope, and timing, adapt go-to-market execution as plans change, and bring more frequent software updates to market.

  • Lead product marketing readiness for assigned software releases and capabilities, and co-lead launches for larger software platforms, partnering across the Product Marketing team to deliver successful adoption.

  • Create high-quality technical marketing deliverables-including demonstrations, videos, presentations, web content, and sales tools-that communicate customer value and generate demand.

  • Develop and deliver practical training, tools, and guidance that help direct and indirect sellers confidently position NI software within the broader hardware and software platform.

  • Serve as a product expert in customer and pre-sales engagements, connecting software capabilities to instrumentation, data acquisition, and automated test workflows.

  • Use customer feedback, seller input, adoption signals, and campaign performance to continuously improve messaging, enablement, and release execution.

  • Represent NI software and the broader Test & Measurement platform at customer events, industry forums, trade shows, and conferences.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or an equivalenttechnical field.

  • 8+ yearsof product marketing, technical marketing, solutions marketing, or related experience bringing complex technical products to market.

  • Demonstrated experience leading product marketing for assigned software releases, capabilities, or launch workstreams and contributing to larger platform launches, including messaging and content development, cross-functional execution, sales readiness, and post-launch improvement.

  • Experience creating technical marketing content and enablement that helps technical sellers and channel partners communicate customer value.

  • Ability to operate autonomously: align to business priorities, determine the path to the outcome, adapt as conditions change, and personally drive work through completion.

What We Value (Preferred Qualifications)

  • AI-paced go-to-market experience: Experience supporting AI, cloud, SaaS, or other software products with frequent release cycles-or demonstrated ability to quickly build and apply that expertise.

  • Execution focus: A record of turning priorities into high-quality deliverables and measurable launch outcomes, not only plans or recommendations.

  • Platform fluency: Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, NI hardware, data acquisition, or instrumentation, with the ability to connect hardware and software capabilities into a cohesive customer story, highly preferred.

  • Technical communication: Skill in technical writing, product demonstrations, educational video content, and presentations for technical and commercial audiences.

  • Cross-functional leadership: Ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders, resolve dependencies, and keep complex releases moving toward a shared outcome.

  • Adaptability and learning agility: Ability to learn quickly, work effectively through ambiguity, and improve the operating model as product and market needs evolve.
