Emesent is an Australian technology company developing autonomous LiDAR-based drone mapping and data analytics solutions. Our technology helps customers capture high-quality 3D data in challenging, GPS-denied environments across mining, infrastructure, surveying and emergency response.

We’re looking for a Quality Control Coordinator to join our Quality & Test team in Brisbane.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll play an important part in ensuring our products, components and customer orders meet Emesent’s high quality standards before they reach the customer.

What you'll do

You’ll work across the full quality lifecycle, including:

• Inspect incoming components and materials against drawings, specifications and engineering requirements.
• Perform in-process quality inspections during assembly and sub-assembly builds.
• Complete final QC inspections on new-build Hovermap payloads, RMA products and accessories.
• Verify product functionality, workmanship, cosmetic condition and completeness.
• Perform packing and shipping verification against customer orders and system records.
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) for new or changed suppliers.
• Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), particularly relating to supplied parts.
• Support Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
• Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance records for QC and production equipment.
• Document rework activities and maintain accurate quality records.
• Support ISO 9001 and Quality Management System activities, audits and corrective actions.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Logistics to resolve quality issues and keep products moving.

About you

You’ll have 3+ years’ experience in quality control, inspection or QC coordination, ideally within manufacturing, electronics or technology production.

You’ll also bring:

• Experience with incoming, in-process and outgoing quality inspection.
• Experience with shipping/packing verification.
• Competence using inspection equipment such as callipers, micrometers and multimeters.
• Understanding of AQL sampling concepts.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
• Experience with NCRs and corrective action processes.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented procedures.
• Good communication skills and confidence working across technical and operational teams.
• Experience using digital workflow tools such as Jira, Confluence or SharePoint.
• A friendly, practical and proactive approach with a genuine willingness to learn.

Desirable experience

• Cert IV or Diploma in Quality Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• ISO 9001 or Lead Auditor certification.
• Electronics or electro-mechanical assembly inspection experience.
• IPC workmanship standards.
• FAI, ECN or NPI processes.
• ERP/inventory systems such as Fishbowl, FastFields or similar.
• Internal or external quality audit experience.
