Job Purpose
Support the production of complex products and power circuitry. This role works closely with operations and engineering teams in a highly technical, fast-paced startup environment. The ideal candidate excels in hands-on work, technical problem-solving, and collaboration across multifunctional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform soldering, assembly, testing, and inspection of prototypes and released products
- Assist in creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), test procedures, and safety procedures
- Conduct troubleshooting, root-cause identification, rework, and repair
- Perform basic troubleshooting of PCBAs and complex troubleshooting of electromechanical assemblies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes
- Communicate clearly and respectfully to achieve team objectives
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces and follow AS9100 traceability requirements
- Conduct equipment calibration as needed
- Coordinate tasks with peers and provide training when required
- Follow verbal instructions effectively and work both independently and collaboratively
- Complete assignments with minimal need for repair or rework and deliver work on time
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Expert knowledge of IPC-610 soldering standards and practices
- Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills
- Basic troubleshooting of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) / Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs)
- Ability to read and understand schematics
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Sound decision-making skills
- Authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications:
- Active IPC-610 or IPC-620 certification
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using diagnostic and lab equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data loggers, thermal chambers, and microscopes
General Job Requirements
- This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
- Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime.
- Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
