The successful candidate will possess the experience and judgment necessary to operate independently and effectively from day one. You will be the face of EHS on the production floor, managing compliance activities, leading incident investigations, maintaining our JHA program, and providing the operational continuity that allows EHS leadership to focus on systems-level strategy and organizational improvement.

The right candidate has deep hands-on manufacturing experience, an instinct for hazard recognition, and the credibility to build trust with technicians, engineers, and leadership alike. You bring rigor to compliance work, professionalism to contractor interactions, and a continuous improvement mindset to everything in between.

Requirements

  • Serve as the primary on-site EHS representative and subject matter expert for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular floor walks, safety observations, and compliance inspections; document findings and drive corrective action to closure

  • Manage contractor safety compliance including pre-qualification documentation, site orientation, and ongoing monitoring during on-site activities
  • Maintain and update the Avetta and ISN contractor management portals, ensuring documentation is current and accurate

JHA Program Management

  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to identify hazard exposure changes requiring JHA revision
  • Ensure JHAs are integrated with training programs and accessible to workers at point of task
  • Promote and ensure effective utilization of EHS Insight as the primary platform

Incident Investigation & CAPA

  • Lead investigations for incidents, near misses, first-aid cases, and recordable injuries using structured root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Document findings and develop corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans to mitigate recurrence and improve operational performance.
  • Ensure OSHA recordkeeping obligations are met and records are accurately maintained
  • Collaborate with EHS Director on trend analysis and systemic corrective action initiatives

Training & Hazard Communication

  • Deliver and document required EHS training to facility personnel, including new hire orientation, topic-specific regulatory training, and refresher training
  • Support the development and rollout of training content in coordination with the EHS Director
  • Ensure SDS library and hazard communication program are current and compliant

EHS Systems & Reporting

  • Serve as the Fountain Inn site administrator for EHS Insight, ensuring data integrity, timely entry, and effective use of the platform for inspections, incidents, and training records
  • Manage Avetta and ISN portal obligations including profile maintenance, document uploads, and audit responses
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly EHS reporting metrics and participate in cross-site EHS alignment activities
  • Support ESG data collection efforts as they relate to environmental performance metrics at the facility level

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA general industry standards and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis methods
  • Demonstrated experience managing JHA programs
  • Experience with contractor safety management and compliance systems (Avetta, ISN, or similar)
  • Proficiency with EHS software systems and digital recordkeeping
