General Manager - Commerce

About the Role

We are looking for a General Manager - Commerce to lead a portfolio of brands/categories and drive profitable growth across global marketplaces.

This role is responsible for business performance, P&L ownership, leadership development, operational excellence, and execution rigor across multiple categories.

The successful candidate will function as a business leader with end-to-end accountability for revenue growth, profitability, inventory efficiency, marketplace expansion, and organizational capability building.

Key Responsibilities

P&L Ownership

• Own the complete P&L for assigned business units.
• Deliver revenue, profitability, and cash flow targets.
• Build and execute annual and quarterly business plans.

Growth Strategy & Execution

• Drive profitable growth across Amazon, Walmart, D2C, TikTok Shop, and emerging marketplaces.
• Identify new growth opportunities across products, channels, and geographies.
• Ensure execution of strategic initiatives.

Inventory & Working Capital

• Improve inventory turns and working capital efficiency.
• Reduce aged inventory exposure.
• Drive demand planning and forecasting discipline.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and develop Category Business Managers and cross-functional teams.
• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and execution.
• Coach future business leaders.

Operational Excellence

• Drive business reviews, KPI management, and execution tracking.
• Remove organizational bottlenecks.
• Improve business processes through technology and automation.

AI & Technology Adoption

• Champion AI-driven decision-making and automation initiatives.
• Drive adoption of internal tools and technology platforms.
• Improve team productivity through AI-enabled workflows.

Preferred Background

• 10-15+ years of experience in e-commerce, retail, category management, marketplace businesses, or consumer products.
• Proven P&L ownership experience.
• Experience leading multi-functional teams.
• Strong commercial, operational, and analytical capabilities.
• Track record of scaling businesses and improving profitability.

Leadership Expectations

This role is expected to operate as the CEO of a portfolio of businesses.

The successful candidate should be equally comfortable discussing revenue, profitability, inventory, marketplace growth, operational execution, team capability, and long-term business strategy.
