Position Overview

Eridu is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in system chassis, enclosure and frame designs used in high-performance computing hardware. This role focuses on the design of rack-mounted systems, including structural frames, board mounting structures, cooling hardware integration, and manufacturable assemblies. The ideal candidate has strong experience developing server, networking, or data center hardware, and has taken chassis systems from concept through production. You will be one of three engineers based in Taiwan. The other two engineers are a Hardware Engineer and an Advanced Packaging Engineer. This role will be based in Taipei City with occasional travel to Hsinchu.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical designs of rack-mounted computing systems, including:
• • Sheet-metal chassis structures
  • Structural frames and mounting assemblies
  • Board-level mounting structures for high-speed electronics
  • Card cages, PSU mounting structures, and cable management
• Thermal Integration, including
• • Cold plates, manifolds, airflow ducting and flow management structures
  • Ensure mechanical architecture supports thermal performance and serviceability.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
• • Drive DFM throughout the design cycle, including:
  • Manufacturing-ready CAD models and drawings
  • Assembly optimization
• ODM engagement
• • Review and approve ODM-generated 3D CAD models and 2D drawings
  • Review tolerance stackup analyses to ensure fit and function
  • Understand costs of components and assemblies, including BOM cost breakdowns, tooling costs, and cost-reduction opportunities
  • Support prototype builds, EVT/DVT validation, and production ramp.
  • Track deliverables against program milestones

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 10 years of experience designing mechanical systems for electronics hardware
• Hands-on experience designing chassis for server or networking rack-mounted systems
• Experience delivering designs through ODM partners
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional hardware teams

The starting base salary for the selected candidate will be established based on their relevant skills, experience, qualifications, work location, market trends, and the compensation of employees in comparable roles.
