Role Overview :
As a Senior Database Architect, you will serve as the primary technical authority for our Couchbase-centric data strategy. You will lead the design, optimization, and scaling of high-performance database clusters, ensuring that our data architecture remains resilient under extreme traffic. This role involves close collaboration with product engineering teams and infrastructure leads to translate complex business requirements into robust, low-latency data models. Your work will directly influence the stability and performance of our core platforms, ensuring seamless data availability for millions of end-users.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architect and implement high-availability Couchbase clusters to support large-scale distributed applications, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
- Optimize complex N1QL queries and indexing strategies to reduce latency and improve throughput for high-concurrency environments.
- Lead capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives to align database infrastructure with projected business growth and traffic spikes.
- Design and maintain robust disaster recovery and backup protocols to ensure zero data loss and minimal downtime for critical services.
- Mentor engineering teams on best practices for NoSQL data modeling and schema design to foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to automate database provisioning and monitoring, enhancing the overall reliability of the production environment.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in architecting and managing Couchbase in production environments, with a deep understanding of its internal mechanics, clustering, and replication strategies.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex performance bottlenecks within distributed NoSQL systems.
- Strong proficiency in data modeling for document-oriented databases, balancing flexibility with query performance requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex architectural decisions to non-technical stakeholders and lead cross-functional technical discussions.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, backed by a track record of delivering scalable data solutions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Bangalore, working closely with local engineering teams to drive rapid deployment cycles.
- A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in database engineering and architecture, with a preference for candidates who can join immediately.
