GBS is the software solution delivery factory for Euroclear Core businesses such as Settlement, Asset Servicing, Funds, Collateral, Cash & Banking, and Corporate Services for all entities of the Groups.

Description of the Tribe

The Cash & Banking Tribe is responsible for the design, delivery and evolution of IT solutions supporting Euroclear’s cash management, payments, liquidity, and banking services. The Tribe enables secure, resilient and efficient cash processing across the Group, while driving modernisation, regulatory compliance and operational excellence through close collaboration between business, IT and GBS delivery teams

Role purpose

The Senior Expert Engineer is accountable for the end-to-end design and technical integrity of the EasyWay business modules, supporting Euroclear’s cash management, payments and banking services.

The role translates complex business, regulatory and operational requirements into secure, scalable and event-driven software designs, ensuring architectural coherence, resilience and compliance across the Cash & Banking landscape.

As a senior technical authority, the role provides expert guidance across squads, supports delivery execution, and contributes to the modernisation and continuous evolution of EasyWay and its ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

Solution & System Design

• Own and design end-to-end EasyWay system architectures for the Cash domain, including orchestration, routing and integration flows.
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into clear, implementable technical designs aligned with event-driven and service-oriented architectures.
• Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, performance and regulatory requirements.
• Validate and evolve existing designs to support scalability, modernisation and technical debt reduction.

Technical Leadership

• Act as the senior technical reference for EasyWay, guiding squads on design choices, patterns, APIs and platform usage.
• Review and challenge solution designs to ensure architectural consistency and cross-system coherence.
• Support resolution of complex delivery or production issues, contributing to root-cause analysis and sustainable fixes.
• Contribute to engineering standards, architectural principles and reusable assets related to EasyWay.

Delivery Enablement & Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects and Engineers to ensure effective delivery of EasyWay Cash initiatives.
• Support squads during implementation to ensure alignment between design intent and delivered solutions.
• Collaborate across tribes and platforms to ensure end-to-end integration and dependency management.
• Provide expert input into technical risks, dependencies and delivery planning.

Modernisation & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to EasyWay and Cash & Banking modernisation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve robustness, maintainability, automation and operational efficiency.
• Promote adoption of modern engineering practices and tooling aligned with Engineering Modernisation.
• Share expertise through documentation, coaching and knowledge sharing.

Required skills & competencies

• Strong senior-level experience in software engineering, solution design or system architecture for complex platforms
• Proven ability to design end-to-end, distributed and event-driven systems, including APIs and integrations
• Experience delivering solutions with high availability, resilience, security and performance requirements
• Solid Knowledge in Angular and .Net development framework
• Ability to translate business and regulatory needs into clear, scalable technical designs
• Comfortable acting as a technical authority, guiding teams and challenging design decisions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, product and business stakeholders
• Experience in banking, payments, financial services or other regulated environments is a strong plus
