Big Data Support Engineer

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Up to 4 years of IT experience.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in a Production Support environment.

• Good knowledge of SQL and Unix Shell Scripting.

• Experience in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Outage Management would be an added advantage.

• Excellent communication and articulation skills.

• Familiarity with Teradata or Hadoop.

• Knowledge of any job scheduling tool (e.g., Control-M, Autosys, or similar tools).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot batch failures and production issues, identify root causes, and take necessary actions to minimize SLA impacts.

• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on internal and external data, processes, and applications to address business requirements and identify improvement opportunities.

• Provide operational support and ensure application Service Level Indicators (SLIs) are met.

• Proactively identify opportunities for preventive maintenance to minimize recurring incidents and improve system stability.

• Respond promptly to queries and requests raised by various business units.

• Provide timely updates to business stakeholders regarding incident status, progress, issues, and resolutions.

• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) exercises.
