Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that aviation fuel (JET A1) meets all regulatory and industry standards for quality and safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct JET A-1 quality testing in accordance with EI/JIG, AFQRJOS, ASTM, ISO, and applicable standards.
- Control fuel receipt, storage, filtration, and dispatch to prevent contamination and preserve product quality.
- Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly quality control checks and tests.
- Issue Release Certificates (RCs) and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for tanks and fuel trucks as required.
- Monitor filtration systems and ensure timely inspection, maintenance, and filter replacement.
- Investigate and report quality deviations, contamination, and safety incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct fuel quality risk assessments and maintain effective quality control procedures.
- Perform annual facility self-assessments, support audits and inspections, and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Train terminal personnel on fuel quality, handling, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare quality reports and trend analyses for management and recommend corrective and continual improvement actions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years’ experience in fuel quality control, preferably in aviation fuel operations.
- Knowledge of aviation fuel specifications, sampling, and testing standards, including ASTM D1655, ICAO, and EI/JIG.
- Practical knowledge of fuel storage, filtration, handling, and contamination control.
- Competence in using laboratory equipment and conducting fuel quality tests.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Good technical communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a regulated, safety-critical, and operational environment.
