FanDuel is a New York sports technology company founded in 2009 that operates fantasy sports and sportsbook products. Its platform handles pricing, risk and settlement at very high volume during major sporting events. The company is the largest online sportsbook in the United States and belongs to an international betting group.

THE POSITION

Our roster has an opening with your name on it

As Principal UI Designer, Sportsbook, you will define and elevate the visual language of FanDuel’s Sportsbook experience You will champion the evolution of FanDuel's visual and interaction language, ensuring every experience feels intuitive, premium, emotionally engaging and distinctly FanDuel.

Working across multiple product teams, you will partner with Product Design, Engineering and Brand to establish the visual direction of our experiences - from interaction design and motion through to design systems, emerging platform capabilities and AI-assisted workflows.

This is an individual contributor leadership role. Your impact is measured not by the work you produce yourself, but by the quality of every experience influenced by your vision, guidance and standards.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN

Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Define the visual quality bar for Sportsbook across iOS, Android and Web.
  • Establish how visual design principles are applied across the product - from typography, color, hierarchy and layout to interaction, motion and system feedback - to create clear, cohesive and emotionally engaging experiences.
  • Partner with Product Design leaders and teams to shape the future of FanDuel’s visual language, defining interaction, motion and visual principles that scale across customer touchpoints.
  • Build trusted partnerships with Product Design, Product Management, Engineering, Brand and Formation, bringing deep visual craft expertise into shared product decisions rather than defining direction in isolation.
  • Drive the evolution of FanDuel's design language, ensuring visual consistency while enabling innovation where it creates meaningful customer value.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusive design and usability without compromising visual craft, personality or brand expression.
  • Explore emerging interaction models, AI capabilities and platform technologies that unlock new customer experiences.
  • Lead rapid concept exploration to help teams imagine ambitious customer experiences before implementation constraints.
  • Establish AI-assisted design workflows that improve quality, consistency and speed across the design process.
  • Coach designers through critique, pairing, workshops and hands-on craft leadership.
  • Influence engineering implementation to ensure production quality consistently reflects design intent.
  • Build reusable libraries, templates, prompts and tooling that increase the capability and efficiency of the wider design organisation.
  • Represent Product Design in executive discussions where visual quality is central to product strategy.
