Job Summary
The IT Officer will manage and support FAWE Ghana’s IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365 environment, systems, devices, networks, digital platforms, and cybersecurity controls.
The successful candidate will provide reliable technical support to staff, administer cloud-based systems, manage user access and devices, strengthen information security, and ensure compliance with relevant data-protection and donor requirements.
The role requires a hands-on professional who can solve technical problems efficiently, communicate clearly with users, and proactively identify opportunities to improve IT systems and services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cloud & Microsoft 365 AdministrationAdminister and maintain core Microsoft 365 platforms, including the M365 Admin Centre, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and relevant third-party platforms.

Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, access rights, and user lifecycles.
Implement and maintain multi-factor authentication (MFA) and appropriate identity and access controls.
Monitor Microsoft 365 license usage, conduct regular audits, and support efficient license allocation and cost management.
Monitor Microsoft 365 service health and proactively communicate relevant updates, incidents, and service disruptions.
Manage Exchange Online mail flow rules, anti-spam configurations, aliases, mailbox permissions, and related services.
Manage Microsoft Teams environments, external sharing settings, and relevant data-retention requirements.
Support SharePoint administration, access management, document collaboration, and information-sharing controls.
Implement and maintain security controls, including MFA, Conditional Access, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and sensitivity labels.
Administer Microsoft Purview compliance tools, including DLP policies, retention labels, eDiscovery, and audit logging.
Manage devices through Microsoft Intune and monitor device compliance.
Implement appropriate application protection and device security policies.
Maintain effective backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and information-security protocols.
Support compliance with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and applicable donor requirements.
Identify cybersecurity risks and implement appropriate controls to protect organizational systems, devices, and information.
Promote good cybersecurity practices among staff through training, guidance, and awareness activities.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, printers, mobile devices, software, and other IT equipment.
Provide effective first- and second-line technical support to staff and resolve IT issues within agreed service levels.
Manage office and field networks, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi systems, and related infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, hardware, and systems issues.
Maintain IT asset registers and ensure accurate records of organizational technology equipment.
Support the procurement, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and disposal of IT assets.
Manage relationships with IT vendors, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), consultants, and other technology service providers.
Support data collection platforms such as KoboCollect and data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI.
Support donor platforms and other digital systems used by FAWE Ghana.
Support the maintenance and effective operation of the FAWE Ghana website and other digital assets.
Collaborate with the Communications and Advocacy team to maintain reliable digital platforms and online resources.
Provide technical support for digital campaigns, online platforms, and technology-enabled advocacy activities.
Assist with the administration and security of organizational digital accounts and platforms.
Provide technical support for virtual meetings, webinars, conferences, presentations, and hybrid events.
Prepare and maintain user guides, technical documentation, and troubleshooting resources.
Train staff on Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, collaboration tools, and other relevant IT systems.
Provide practical guidance that helps staff use technology effectively and securely.
Promote responsible use of organizational IT resources and information systems.
Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, user databases, system documentation, and technology records.
Track system usage, IT incidents, service performance, and technology-related activities.
Prepare and submit timely reports on IT performance, application usage, incidents, and system health.
Maintain appropriate records of IT procurement, licenses, vendor agreements, maintenance activities, and service contracts.
Document IT procedures and continuously improve internal technology processes.

Qualification Required & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience working as an IT Officer, Systems Administrator, IT Support Specialist, or in a similar role.
Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and Purview.
Practical experience managing user identities, permissions, MFA, Conditional Access, and other security controls.
Experience with computer hardware, network administration, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and IT troubleshooting.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data protection, backup, disaster recovery, and information-security practices.
Working knowledge of the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and relevant donor compliance requirements.
Familiarity with KoboCollect, Power BI, or similar data collection and visualization platforms will be an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to explain technical issues clearly to users with different levels of technical knowledge.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and respond effectively to urgent technical issues.
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential organizational and personal information.
