Quality Internship

Position Summary:

This position will provide real-world experience in a distribution environment, specific to responsibilities within the Quality Lab. This position will learn various aspects of the quality function including inspections, blueprint reviews, trouble-shooting quality errors, and assisting with various reports and data entry. This opportunity is specific to candidates who are pursuing either a two-year or a four-year degree in a technical field. The work schedule is flexible and is designed to complement class schedules as needed. This opportunity could lead to ongoing part-time employment during the school year for local candidates.

Location: Rockford, IL

FLSA Hourly/Salary: Hourly pay $16

Essential Functions:

• Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
• Work with our Quality Technicians to assist with Pre-production Part Approval Process (PPAP) inspections.
• Conduct lab testing and product testing on parts.
• Conduct technical research and report writing.
• Respond to emails and requests from the Field team.
• Assist with trouble-shooting quality issues.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects and activities.

Education, Skills and Experience Required:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• In pursuit of either a two-year or four-year technical degree.
• Polite and professional manner.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Well organized and detail oriented.
• Possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Committed to accuracy and dependability.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
• The ability to learn new tasks in a short period of time.

Additional Skills Preferred:

• Previous fastener knowledge.
• Experience with blueprints, calipers, micrometers, and gauges in general.
• Experience with AutoCAD
