Principal Engineer - QA / SDET

FinBox is looking for a Principal Engineer - QA to lead and scale our Quality Engineering function. This role combines technical leadership, quality strategy, and engineering excellence to build scalable automation, improve release quality, and establish organisation-wide quality standards. You'll partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Security teams to drive automation-first practices, strengthen CI/CD quality, and build a culture where quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the Quality Engineering strategy, standards, and best practices across the organisation.
• Design and scale automation frameworks across Web, API, Mobile, and Performance testing.
• Establish quality gates and automation within CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and faster releases.
• Drive engineering quality through automation, platform reliability, and continuous process improvements.
• Define quality metrics, improve engineering visibility, and reduce production defects.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Security teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
• Mentor and develop high-performing Quality Engineering teams while fostering a culture of ownership and engineering excellence.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, including leading quality initiatives in high-growth product organisations.
• Strong expertise in automation architecture, test strategy, and CI/CD-driven Quality Engineering.
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.
• Good understanding of AWS, including cloud infrastructure, service deployment, scalability, and infrastructure optimisation.
• Experience building scalable automation frameworks and improving engineering quality at scale.
• Proven experience leading Quality Engineering teams and driving organisation-wide quality transformation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence engineering and product teams.
• Experience in FinTech, SaaS, or other product-based companies is preferred.
• Exposure to AI-driven testing, performance engineering, or security testing is an added advantage.
