Technical Compliance Program Manager
You'll build the operational bridge between what Firecrawl is legally and contractually required to do and how our technology actually does it. This is a build-from-scratch role: as we scale into our next phase, someone has to turn novel legal, security, and policy requirements into real technical controls, monitoring, and documentation that engineers will actually follow. That's you. You'll own how Firecrawl proves, in practice, that our systems do what our policies and commitments say they do.
This is not a legal role, and it's not a checklist compliance job. It's a technical program role for someone who speaks fluent engineer and fluent lawyer, and who is exceptionally good at turning ambiguous requirements into formal systems that work.
Salary Range: $251,000-$276,000/year
Equity Range: Competitive equity - details shared during the process.

What You'll Do
Translate legal, security, and policy requirements into practical technical processes, controls, and documentation engineers will actually use
Build and maintain the monitoring and controls that show our systems do what our policies and commitments require
Own cross-functional compliance projects end to end across engineering, legal, sales, and ops - from novel requirement to shipped system
Document how our technical systems satisfy company policies and external obligations, in a way that survives a customer security review or an auditor's questions
Find the gaps before someone else does, escalate what matters, and drive it to closed
Build the metrics and reporting that tell leadership where we actually stand
Automate compliance wherever it's practical - you'd rather build a control that runs itself than police a process by hand
What We're Looking For
You've run technical programs across engineering teams and shipped operational systems, not just tracked them in a spreadsheet
You work fluently with software engineers and can hold your own on how systems actually work
You turn ambiguity into structure - novel, undefined requirements are the fun part, not the blocker
You're extraordinarily organized and you close loops without being chased
You're an excellent communicator in both directions: you can make a lawyer understand an architecture and an engineer understand an obligation
You're an AI super user - this is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have. You reach for AI to move faster by default.
Bonus: direct experience with legal, regulatory, privacy, or policy requirements. Preferred, not required - we care more about how you think than what frameworks you've memorized.

Someone who runs compliance as a checklist and hands engineering a list of no's
A pure legal or GRC background with no real technical depth
Someone who needs the requirements fully defined before they can start
Someone who optimizes for process over shipping

Interview Process
Application Review - Send us your work and a quick note on why this excites you. Show us something you've built or run - a program, a control, a system that made a messy requirement real. We care about what you've done, not where you went to school.
Intro Chat (~25 min) - A quick conversation to get to know each other before we go deep. We'll talk about what you've been working on, what drew you to Firecrawl, and what you're looking for in your next role. Time for your questions too.
Technical Chat (~45 min) - We'll dig into a real problem from our world - how you'd stand up a control and prove a system does what our policy says, or turn a vague external requirement into something engineers can ship against - and talk through how you'd approach it. Come ready to think out loud; we care how you reason, not whether you memorized a framework.
Founder Chat (~25 min) - Culture, pace, ownership, and how you like to work. Time for your questions too.
Paid Work Trial (1-2 weeks) - Work with the team on a real, scoped piece of the work - paid at a contractor rate. It's the truest signal for both sides: you see what building at Firecrawl actually feels like, and we see how you operate. Remote-friendly, and we'll flex around your current commitments.
