A Specialist Implementation Manager independently leads all aspects of successful implementations of the Veracross software, with deep expertise in Student Billing and its connected modules. The role calls for a strong understanding of the Veracross software package, excellent project management skills, and effective communication (written and verbal). Projects are executed on time and on budget, while fostering trusting relationships with implementing schools and their Business Offices. As team and customer needs evolve, the role will extend to other areas of the Veracross platform.
This role is based in Australia and supports schools across the APAC region.
Job Responsibilities
- Guide customer implementation projects across one or more Veracross products, with a focus on Student Billing and connected modules. The process includes:
- Department discovery: working with the Business Office and other implementing departments to understand their workflows and needs, including how billing and fees connect to the rest of school operations.
- Platform transition options consulting: discovery-infused platform setup options presented, demoed, revised, and finally agreed upon.
- Change management: orchestrate successful change management, where tailored configurations are office-tested, revised, approved, and deployed, with extra care given to the Business Office's daily operations.
- Department workflow consulting: model and document the ways the school's different departments will use the Veracross product(s) across their first operational year.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute project plans, task schedules, and resource activities to ensure on-time and effective project delivery
- Work with the Lead Project Manager to build Business Office implementation plans tied to Student Billing and connected module configuration
- Advise Business Offices on how their billing setup connects to their chart of accounts, general ledger, and wider accounting processes
- Lead direct training engagements for multiple school departments, and ensure school personnel complete required self-paced trainings
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all phases of the implementation are executed as necessary
- Act as an internal subject matter expert for Student Billing, coaching other Implementation Managers and helping build their billing consulting skills
- Develop tailored support handoffs after go-live and contribute to internal documentation and best practices for Student Billing and connected module implementations
- Gather client feedback and work with internal teams to improve the implementation process and product offerings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in technical project management, implementing Veracross, or other SaaS-based software solutions, ideally including finance or billing systems and data conversion
- Experience working in or with an independent school Business Office a plus
- A solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, particularly as they relate to billing: the accounting equation; the chart of accounts; the general ledger and journal entries; accounts receivable and cash processing; reconciliations; period-end and financial year-end closing; and standard financial reporting (balance sheet, trial balance, profit and loss)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including comfort with public speaking, presentation delivery, and presenting to finance leaders such as Business Managers and Finance Managers
- Ability to make complex decisions and recommendations under limited direction, using a high degree of initiative and independent judgement
- Ability to learn complex, enterprise-level software systems at a level that supports teaching others
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysis
- Highly organised, with the ability to self-manage in a remote environment
