Senior Software Development Engineer - Frontend

Job Summary :

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer - Frontend with deep expertise in Angular, TypeScript, and modern web development. In this role, you will be a primary contributor to a business-critical financial reconciliation product used by enterprises worldwide, frontend component development, and the delivery of high-quality, secure, and performant user interfaces.

You will work closely with backend engineers, QA, and the product team to translate functional requirements and UI/UX designs into reliable Angular/UI components. You will bring hands-on experience with Kendo Grid, UI Web Components, REST API integration, frontend security, and Angular upgrade cycles, and will be expected to contribute to technical design, code reviews, and the ongoing improvement of the frontend codebase. Success in this role requires a strong Angular foundation, a keen eye for user experience, and the discipline to deliver maintainable software within Agile sprint timelines.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Angular/UI components, modules, and services for the web client application, ensuring a responsive, performant, and accessible user experience.

- Build and maintain complex data grid implementations using Kendo Grid / Kendo UI, including sorting, filtering, pagination, inline editing, and custom cell rendering.

- Build and maintain full application screens, layouts, navigation flows, dialogs, and form interactions that make up the application UI, taking end-to-end ownership from design handoff to delivered feature.

- Translate UI/UX wireframes and design specifications into pixel-accurate, usable, and accessible Angular components, flagging design issues or inconsistencies before implementation begins.

- Implement consistent look, feel, and theming across the application using CSS, component-level styling, and shared UI design patterns.

- Build reusable UI component libraries and shared modules that can be consumed consistently across different areas of the application.

- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and consistent user experience across all supported browsers and screen resolutions.

- Consume and integrate REST APIs into Angular applications, handling authentication tokens, error states, loading indicators, and data transformation at the frontend layer.

- Implement and enforce frontend security best practices.

- Participate in and contribute to Angular framework upgrade cycles, ensuring the application remains on a current, supported version with minimal disruption.

- Write clean, maintainable TypeScript, HTML, CSS code; apply component-based architecture principles, lazy loading, and Angular best practices across all features.

- Work with RxJS to manage asynchronous data streams, handle complex event-driven interactions, and ensure predictable state management across the application.

- Collaborate with backend engineers to define and consume REST API contracts, ensuring seamless end-to-end feature delivery.

- Apply responsive design principles using Bootstrap and CSS to ensure the application works correctly across supported browsers and screen sizes.

- Participate in UI/UX design reviews, translating wireframes and functional specifications into reliable, well-tested Angular components.

- Write unit tests using Jasmine/Karma or equivalent frameworks; contribute to maintaining high frontend test coverage.

- Work within the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, ensuring code is built, tested, and deployed in a consistent and automated manner.

- Investigate and resolve frontend defects and performance issues, collaborating with QA and backend teams as required.

- Actively participate in sprint planning, estimation, code reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.

- Promote a knowledge-sharing culture through documentation, code reviews, and team collaboration.

- Working in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment, taking ownership of sprint commitments and consistently delivering well-tested, production-ready features on time. Adapts quickly to shifting priorities without losing focus on quality or the overall release goal.

- Takes initiative in identifying and addressing technical challenges early, without waiting to be directed. Brings a solution-oriented approach to sprint delivery, proactively flagging risks to timelines and working with the team to resolve blockers before they become issues.

Qualifications :

Required :

- B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent.

- 5 - 7 years of software development experience with a strong focus on frontend / Angular development.

- Strong hands-on experience with Angular (version 14 or above; experience with Angular 21 or the latest LTS version is highly desirable).

- Proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, CSS, interfaces, generics, and Angular-specific patterns.

- Hands-on experience with Kendo Grid / Kendo UI for building complex, data-heavy web interfaces.

- Solid experience consuming REST APIs from Angular - HTTP client, interceptors, error handling, and token management.

- Working knowledge of RxJS - Observables, Subjects, operators, and reactive patterns in Angular applications.

- Experience with Bootstrap and CSS for responsive, cross-browser-compatible UI development.

- Proven experience building production web application UIs end-to-end, full screens, navigation flows, dialogs, and complex form interactions, not just isolated components.

- Proficiency in CSS, including component-level and application-level styling, theming, and layout techniques.

- Working understanding of UI/UX principles - layout, spacing, visual hierarchy, and usability - sufficient to implement designs accurately and identify issues during design review.

- Solid understanding of frontend security.

- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jasmine/Karma.

- Experience working within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or equivalent tools.

- Familiarity with version control and project management tools (SVN, Git, JIRA).

- Excellent problem-solving skills, with strong communication and collaboration qualities.

Nice to Have :

- Familiarity with Java / Spring backend services - sufficient to understand API contracts, debug integration issues, and collaborate effectively with backend engineers.

- Exposure to JBoss / WildFly application server in the context of web application deployment and integration.

- Awareness of SQL Server or Oracle databases - ability to understand query results and data structures returned via APIs.

- Familiarity with Angular Material or other Angular design systems.

- Experience with state management libraries for large-scale Angular applications.

- Exposure to web performance profiling and optimization techniques (lazy loading, change detection strategy, bundle optimization).
