FIS

FIS is an American financial technology company founded in 1968 that supplies the core processing, payments and treasury software banks and corporations run their operations on. Its banking solutions business covers deposit and loan cores, digital channels and card issuing for thousands of financial institutions, while its capital markets business sells trading, treasury, lending and risk software to banks, asset managers and corporate finance departments. Headquartered in Jacksonville and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it sold most of its Worldpay merchant business in 2023 to refocus on the software it sells to financial institutions rather than merchant acquiring.

Job Description

Every transaction tells a story. Every innovation creates new possibilities. At FIS, we build the technology that helps businesses and communities thrive. Join us and be part of a team that embraces curiosity, values diverse perspectives and turns ideas into action.

About the role

As an Analyst Senior, Business Systems Analysis within Technology Development Enablement, you will translate business needs into clear system and process requirements that improve how teams plan, execute and govern work. You will support enterprise tooling, process optimization and governance initiatives from intake and discovery through testing, implementation and adoption. This role partners across business and technology teams, works with a high degree of autonomy and provides practical guidance on complex system changes and operational issues.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and requirements activities for technology enablement requests, clarifying business outcomes, scope, acceptance criteria, dependencies and operational impacts.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements, process maps, system specifications, user stories and other documentation that development, configuration and delivery teams can implement.
  • Analyze current-state processes and system behavior, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, and recommend scalable solutions aligned with enterprise standards and governance expectations.
  • Coordinate testing, validation and implementation support for new systems, configurations and enhancements, including issue triage, risk assessment, readiness activities and post-launch stabilization.
  • Partner with technical and non-technical teams to troubleshoot complex issues, communicate requirements and decisions clearly, and maintain traceability from intake through delivery.
  • Develop training materials, procedures and knowledge content that help users adopt new tools and processes and sustain consistent ways of working.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior analysts, share reusable practices and contribute to continuous improvement of the team’s intake, analysis and delivery methods.

What you bring

Required qualifications-

  • Substantial business systems analysis experience, including responsibility for complex system, process or technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit, analyze and document business, functional and non-functional requirements with clear acceptance criteria and traceability.
  • Experience supporting system development and implementation life cycles, including testing, issue resolution, rollout readiness and operational transition.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, evaluate options and develop practical recommendations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of detailed requirements, process documentation, reports and stakeholder presentations.
  • Ability to independently manage assignments, coordinate across multiple teams and provide direction or coaching to other analysts.
  • A university degree in business, computer science, information systems or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise work-management, product-management or portfolio platforms such as Jira, Aha! or Planview.
  • Experience with process governance, tool configuration, data analysis, controls, documentation or technology adoption initiatives.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery practices, backlog management, user stories, process mapping and structured testing or quality-assurance methods.

The impact you’ll make

As an Analyst Senior, Business Systems Analysis, you will strengthen the connection between business needs and technology delivery. Your work will help create scalable platforms, consistent processes and durable governance while giving delivery teams complete, actionable requirements. By improving analysis, testing, documentation and adoption, you will reduce friction and help Technology Development teams plan, execute, measure and govern work more consistently.
