What you will be doing:
- Designs, develops and maintains scalable Python-based backend applications, APIs, microservices and workflow services supporting intelligent automation and enterprise integrations within the Atlas platform.
- Develops secure, high-performance solutions using modern backend frameworks, cloud-native architectures and event-driven design principles.
- Collaborates with business analysts, architects and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Integrates applications with databases, AI services, workflow engines and external systems through APIs and messaging frameworks while implementing efficient data processing and business logic.
- Builds automated testing and CI/CD capabilities to ensure software quality, reliability and maintainability.
- Monitors application performance, resolves production issues and contributes to continuous improvement through reusable services, automation and engineering best practices.
- Applies strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills to deliver scalable platform capabilities and support business transformation objectives through Atlas.
What you bring:
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade backend applications and APIs.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native development and Azure platform services.
- Strong understanding of databases, data modeling, SQL/NoSQL technologies and backend performance optimization.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications, AI services and external systems through APIs and messaging frameworks.
- Knowledge of asynchronous processing, workflow orchestration and automation platforms.
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing and DevOps practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and production support capabilities.
- Experience working within Agile development teams and modern software engineering practices.

Preferred Skills
- Exposure to workflow, orchestration or document-processing platforms is a plus.
- Exposure to AI/Agent frameworks or Azure AI services.
- Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical enterprise platforms.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring and application performance management tools.
- Financial services, operations or workflow transformation experience is a plus.

Expert professional role, acknowledged as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Develops large and/or complex business process solutions that require detailed analysis and research and cross business lines, technical, functional and client domains. Acts as an internal consultant for highly complex issue resolution. Trains, coaches and mentors functional and technical staff within and across applications. Works independently on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Has proven ability to identify and solution complex mapping or interface requirements of unique projects and examines data field conversion requirements. Identifies additional opportunities to provide more products, services or other resources to customer. Demonstrates superior presentation, communication and negotiation skills. Participates as a senior member in strategic planning and directions. Assigned to the most highly visible, sensitive and critical projects and may be used in a consulting capacity. Typically requires a minimum of twelve plus years implementation and /or conversion experience with a demonstrated ability to handle high project complexity. Corporate Compensation must review and approve any incumbent(s) being placed in this role.
