Software Engineer (Python, Django & AI Automation)

This role is for a strong Python and Django developer with sound product judgment and a high degree of ownership. You will work directly with product, business and operations teams, convert broad requirements into clear technical plans, and build reliable production systems. The work spans backend platforms, applied AI for call-center operations and, where required, communications infrastructure.

You should be comfortable operating independently, asking the right questions when context is incomplete, learning unfamiliar technologies quickly, and keeping stakeholders informed from discovery through deployment.

What You Will Own

• End-to-end delivery: Own projects from discovery and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring and iteration.
• Requirements translation: Understand business and product goals, identify gaps or risks, and convert them into practical technical requirements and milestones.
• Backend engineering: Design, build and maintain Python/Django services, APIs, data models, integrations and background-processing workflows.
• Applied AI systems: Build AI agents and automation for call-center operations, including performance reports, conversation analysis and actionable feedback that helps agents improve their KPIs.
• AI quality and safety: Define evaluation criteria, structured outputs, human-review paths, guardrails and monitoring so AI features are useful, measurable and dependable.
• Telephony and communications: Contribute to or extend PBX and call-center infrastructure, including FreeSWITCH-based solutions and related integrations where needed.
• Engineering quality: Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code; participate constructively in reviews; document important decisions; and improve reliability, performance and security.
• Project coordination: Break work into deliverable stages, manage dependencies and risks, communicate progress clearly, and drive projects to completion without constant follow-up.
• Team contribution: Collaborate openly, support teammates and share knowledge while remaining accountable for your own outcomes.

Required Experience & Skills

• 3+ years of professional software-development experience, primarily in backend or full-stack engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Django and Django REST Framework, with a track record of shipping production applications.
• Good understanding of API design, relational databases, data modelling, background jobs, testing, debugging and performance fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to turn loosely defined business or product needs into a sensible technical design and delivery plan.
• Strong problem-solving skills, product awareness and the judgment to balance speed, quality and maintainability.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Applied AI Capability

• Hands-on experience building AI-enabled products, LLM-powered workflows or autonomous/semi-autonomous agents, or strong project evidence demonstrating the ability to do so.
• Familiarity with prompt design, tool/function calling, structured outputs, retrieval or context management, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Ability to evaluate AI output quality and reason about accuracy, latency, cost, privacy and operational failure modes.
• Experience with text analytics, reporting, conversation intelligence or workflow automation is especially relevant.

Preferred, Not Mandatory

• Experience with FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, SIP, WebRTC, PBX platforms or other VoIP/call-center technologies.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, Docker, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and observability tooling.
• Exposure to customer-support, contact-center, CRM, fintech or other operationally intensive environments.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and maintaining services where uptime and data quality matter.
