Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for a hands-on Plant Fitter to help keep our quarry running safely, reliably and efficiently. In this role, you’ll be central to keeping production moving - tackling preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and supporting continuous improvement across the site. You’ll be a key link between operations and maintenance, ensuring plant work is completed safely, efficiently and to Rangitikei Aggregates’ standards.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance & Engineering - Complete planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on quarry infrastructure.
- Daily Checks - Carry out inspections and audits to spot faults, hazards and improvement opportunities.
- Fault Diagnosis - Identify root causes, implement corrective actions and help reduce downtime.
- Repairs & Fabrication - Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, fitting and project work.
- Reporting - Maintain accurate records and contribute to maintenance planning and improvement activity.
- Safety & Hazard Management - Identify hazards, follow isolation and permit to work processes, and support HS&E initiatives
What this role offers:
- Guaranteed 40 hours - Monday to Friday and some Saturdays on roster
- Weekly paid, hourly rate from $40.00
What You’ll Bring
- Trade qualification in engineering, fitting, mechanical maintenance or similar experience, preferably in quarries
- Safety mindset - strong commitment to upholding Health & Safety standards; able to work safely in noisy, dusty or hot environments.
- Communication & teamwork - clear communicator who can work independently and build strong relationships across the site.
- Planning & prioritisation - able to organise maintenance tasks effectively and respond to operational priorities.

For this role you will need:
NZ Class 1 Drivers Licence
Right to work in New Zealand
Decent level of fitness - there will be some manual heavy lifting
