Job Summary
Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.
To contribute to our efforts and support the teams that build great products, we are looking for an SMT & Solder Cold Plate (SCP) Process Supervisor, located at Guadalajara North Campus. Reporting to the Process Engineer, this role is responsible for supervising critical SMT and SCP processes, ensuring the correct execution of production plans, and leading the technical team to meet quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement objectives.
What a typical day looks like:
- Supervise technical activities in SMT and SCP processes and coordinate the technical team.
- Develop and optimize programs for DEK, SPI, Camalot, Press Fit, and other process-related equipment.
- Analyze and validate stencils; perform SPI debug and P&P failure analysis.
- Develop reflow profiles and validate fixtures, pallets, and process tooling.
- Support SCP process controls, soldering validations, thermal assemblies, and related manufacturing requirements.
- Create procedures, visual aids, and technical presentations.
- Perform capacity calculations, rates, process mapping, and root-cause analysis.
- Document and implement continuous improvement actions and Kaizen events.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Engineering degree.
- Experience in SMT, Solder Cold Plate (SCP), PTH, and Backend processes, including paste printing, SPI, edge bonding, soldering processes, and smart torque systems.
- Knowledge of stencil design, reflow profiling, tooling/fixture design, pallet validation, and process controls for thermal assembly applications.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, CPK calculations, CAD/Gerber files, and MS Office.
- Previous experience supervising and developing technical personnel.
- Experience with production control systems (serial control, flows, traceability).
