Staff Accountant (Guadalajara)

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing organization operating in the real estate and senior living industries.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance, general ledger account reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules. This position will also support monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations for assets, liabilities, equity accounts, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual trial balances, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare variance analysis reports and provide commentary on actual versus budget variances.
• Perform reconciliations between two or more systems and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting and maintenance.
• Support bank reconciliation processes.
• Perform other accounting-related duties and special projects as requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience.
• Previous experience in the senior living industry is preferred.
• Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Self-starter with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions for discussion with the Controller.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-changing business environment.
• Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
