Staff Accountant (Hybrid)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a growing organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end close, and supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for various financial transactions.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and support monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank, accounts receivable, and accounts payable reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure appropriate coding, documentation, and authorization.
• Assist with accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and account management.
• Coordinate with internal teams regarding invoices, reimbursements, and other accounting-related documentation.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
• Assist with audits and financial reporting as needed.
• Complete special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as requested by leadership.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable accounting standards.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, property management, construction, or a related industry is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with accounting software such as Yardi, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial information.
