You will identify, communicate, plan and support the delivery of IT and business solutions and services. The role requires the ability to understand not only what the business needs, but also the systems and applications in which solutions will be designed, configured, developed or integrated.

You will be working with the business and firmwide departments to understand their key business strategies and drivers and to help address these through innovative and pioneering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of the firm’s systems and applications, including their capabilities, limitations, integrations, dependencies and how they support business processes.

  • Work closely with developers, technical teams and suppliers to shape solution options, identifying system impacts, integrations, dependencies, constraints and potential risks.
  • Act as the link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating business needs into technical requirements and technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of business and legal processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and user experience through technology.
  • Analyse existing systems, processes, workflows and data flows to identify gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce clear functional and technical documentation, including requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, impact assessments and solution documentation.
  • Assess the impact of proposed changes across systems and business processes, identifying affected applications, integrations, data, users and operational processes.
  • Support solutions throughout the delivery lifecycle, from initial requirements and solution design through development, testing, implementation and business adoption.
  • Work with business and technical teams to ensure delivered solutions meet agreed requirements and expected business outcomes, supporting clarification and resolution of issues throughout delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement of existing applications and processes, identifying opportunities to simplify, automate and modernise how the firm operates.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant technology developments and system capabilities, using this knowledge to identify practical opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Undertake analysis of operational issues and system behaviour, working with technical teams to identify root causes, requirements and appropriate solutions.
  • Champion technology-led improvement across the firm, challenging existing processes where technology can provide a more effective, efficient or scalable approach.
