Flora Food Group is a global Culinary Essentials company. We operate at the heart of everyday food, providing core ingredients used across kitchens.

Location: On-site in Hugoton, KS Plant

Why this role matters

Within the first year, you will build a structured, repeatable training program that transforms new employees with and without manufacturing experience into confident, productive team members. This role is essential to closing the skills gap at Flora Food Group’s Hugoton facility, where many workers are new to manufacturing and new equipment requires fresh expertise. Your work will ensure that every cohort of employees is prepared not only to operate machinery safely and effectively but also to grow into future leadership roles. This role directly supports the quality, safety, and reliability of food production by developing the people who make it happen.

What you'll do

  • Build and deliver a multi-stage training curriculum covering machine operation, task-specific skills, scheduling, coaching, and supervisory development.
  • Lead structured training sessions tailored for employees entering manufacturing for the first time.
  • Define and implement a succession roadmap to identify and prepare high-potential employees for lead and supervisory roles.
  • Collaborate closely with production managers and HR to develop training content that reflects real operational needs.
  • Track learner progress and continuously adapt the program to evolving equipment, processes, and workforce requirements.

Performance

You will own the creation and execution of a training program that measurably increases workforce capability and productivity. Success will be seen in employees’ ability to operate new equipment confidently and in the establishment of a clear pipeline for internal leadership development. Your data-driven approach will ensure training effectiveness and continuous improvement, directly impacting operational performance and food safety standards.

Care

This role requires close collaboration with production managers, HR leaders, and site supervisors to ensure training aligns with operational realities and regulatory requirements. You will build trust by treating every learner’s development as a long-term investment, supporting a safe and confident workforce. Reporting functionally to the Plant Manager and working alongside HR, you will help sustain a culture of learning and accountability that benefits the entire facility.

Passion

You will connect deeply with the craft of food manufacturing, understanding that the people on the floor are as vital as the ingredients in our products. Your role supports the future of food production by nurturing skills that uphold taste, nutrition, functionality, and reliability. If you are passionate about developing people and raising the bar in food manufacturing, this role offers a unique chance to make a lasting impact.

About you

You bring experience designing and running training programs, ideally in manufacturing or regulated environments, and know how to make complex processes accessible to beginners. You are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working hands-on to build structure where it is needed. You understand that in food manufacturing, developing people is as important as developing product quality. You communicate clearly, collaborate well, and have a continuous improvement mindset.

You are genuinely interested in food culture and curious about how consumer behaviour and future food trends shape innovation. You understand that strong brands are built by anticipating what’s next in taste, nutrition and functionality, and by translating insight into meaningful consumer experiences.

Where this could lead to

This role typically leads to supervisory or management positions within production training or operations, as you develop expertise in workforce development and succession planning. Over time, you could grow into roles that shape broader talent strategies or lead larger teams, contributing to the long-term success of Flora Food Group’s manufacturing operations.
