Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• VMware Infrastructure Setup & Management: Design, install, and configure VMware vSphere/ESXi environments from scratch. Manage virtual networking, datastores, VM templates, resource allocation, and environment separation.
• Infrastructure Preparation & Deployment: Set up, configure, and maintain the underlying compute, storage, and network infrastructure required for loading and running proprietary enterprise software applications.
• Linux/Ubuntu Administration: Administer Ubuntu Linux servers, including OS configuration, file system management, security hardening, and patch management.
• Networking & Security: Manage complex environment networking, including DNS resolution, firewall rules, NATs, and cross-network routing. Oversee host authentication and access controls.
• Engineering Support: Provide virtualization, Linux, and infrastructure troubleshooting and engineering assistance to the broader software development and testing teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Virtualization (VMware): Deep, hands-on experience building, configuring, and administering VMware environments. Strong understanding of vCenter, ESXi, virtual networking, and storage integration.
• Operating Systems: Strong expertise in Linux systems administration, specifically Ubuntu, including OS lifecycle management, partitioning, and troubleshooting.
• Networking Foundations: Solid practical understanding of DNS, TCP/IP routing, firewalls, and network isolation/restrictions in a virtualized environment.
• Problem Solving: Ability to independently architect infrastructure solutions and troubleshoot complex OS and virtualization issues.

Associated Skillsets (Plus Factors):

• Automation & IaC: Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible or Terraform to automate repetitive deployments and configuration tasks.
• Scripting: Proficiency in bash/shell scripting, Python, or PowerShell.
• CI/CD & Source Control: Experience interacting with or supporting CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and managing version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with hybrid cloud setups or public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Monitoring & Logging: Experience configuring enterprise monitoring and logging tools
