IT Solutions Engineer

Aylesbury Area (home-based) - covering Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire & Oxfordshire

£40,000 + Car Allowance or Van + Overtime

(Internal job level reference: (Specialist / Team Leader)

Focus Group is one of the UK's leading providers of essential business technology, supporting around 30,000 customers with everything from connectivity and telecoms to IT solutions, cyber security and energy - all from one place. Backed by Hg Capital and valued at over $1 billion, we're scaling fast, investing heavily in AI, and growing our reach through strategic acquisitions. As we continue to expand, we're setting new standards in managed service excellence and building a business that's genuinely going places.

Are you an experienced IT engineer who's ready to lead, not just support?

At Focus Group, we're looking for a Solutions Engineer to deliver hands-on installations and support for customers across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire. You'll be the subject matter expert in your specialism - whether that's networking, servers and storage, or cloud - leading projects, solving complex faults, and mentoring the engineers around you.

This is a home & customer site based role with real variety: you'll be out visiting customers 3-4 days a week, from small businesses through to enterprise sites, so you'll need to enjoy being on the road and with customers as much as behind a screen.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience in an IT support and delivery role - ideally within an MSP setting
  • Specialist knowledge in:
  • Networking: (VLAN’s, Routing, Wireless, Ekahau, Meraki, SonicWall, Cisco, Aruba)
  • Server & storage: (Windows Server, Storage, Hyper V, VMware, M365 & Azure)
  • Cloud technologies: (M365, Azure, Intune, SharePoint)
  • The confidence to lead projects and mentor colleagues
  • A full, valid UK driving licence

What's in it for you

  • £40,000 salary
  • Car allowance or company van
  • Overtime available
  • The chance to work on varied, high-profile projects with a growing, ambitious technology company

If you want to build your career with a company that's ambitious, growing, and genuinely going places, we'd love to hear from you.

Let's connect. Let's grow.
